Has anyone tried these and have a bit of an issue. It’s not the accents just very unclear and difficult to adjust. This happens on a couple upper channel stations like USA or Tnt on a couple different series but all else is ok. This is mostly using arc from lgg7p OLED. But direct input HDMI 1&2
I usually use the Standard sound mode for most material, but some shows/channels have better voice level and clarity if I switch to Movie mode.

Have lurked this forum for years using it as a resource, but finally have registered for some input as I am having a few issues;

My setup is as follows
Vizio E70-E3
Xbox 1X (I use this as my "hub", it toggles everything on/off & I have cable boxed plugged in)
Sk10Y

TV and Soundbar are connected by their ARC ports
Xbox is HDMI1 on soundbar

-I having the problem of the sounbar defaulting to Optical when booting up (happens maybe 75% of the time)
-Soundbar also starting muted (not the biggest deal)

I had spent the better part of 4 hours recabling my entire media center setup yesterday and was having major issues, I contacted LG and they want me to send it in for repair (lol wtf?), I went to work and came home later that night to mess with it more and it was working almost flawlessly

Any help or advice is appreciated

From the setup that you describe I think it is the Xbox One X that will be causing a handshake issue as that is effectively switching on before the soundbar. I know it's annoying, but if that feature is disabled I think it would all work.

Let me know if it does as I've had a few minor issues with mine recently.

Makes sense as I will say sometimes I will have the issue of my television displaying an error that there is nothing input and if switch the sound bar function to HDMI 1in (i assume) it reads the Xbox and than I get A/V

Another issue I face that was described earlier in this thread or the other thread regarding the sound bar was because the there had been displayed content in atmos before it will be in Atmos while displaying anything and then a couple minutes in (approximately 2 to 3 minutes I would say) it switches to whatever is the highest quality available audio source

Have had the soundbar for 6-7 months now
and really have very few if any complaints.
Perhaps part of it is I don’t have anything
connected to it like Apple TV etc, just the Oled via
ARC to the unit and zero handshake issues.
The bar when turned on instantly displays
optical for a second or two before th ARC
Displays. I too have noticed both vocal clarity
and volume differs based on the sound source,
but that isn’t a function of the bar. Using the
standard Meridian mode 100% of the time
with center speaker volume at 5 or 6, Treble
at 5 provides excellent vocals to go along
with the large soundscape for 5.1 movie or
Atmos. Playing music off my phone or
I heart radio etc sounds great in bass blast mode.
Had friends over last night and we watched
a Stones concert from Cuba in 4K and they were
blown away by both the picture and the sound.
While the soundbar to me isn’t perfect and perfection
is in he ears of the beholder, both the TV and
bar are high on a list of the best purchases
I’ve ever made.

LG TV (OLEDC8) and LG Soundbar (SK10Y) Input Challenges

I have the same issue. I tried turning the CEC off, but that didn't help. I also tried programming a Logitech Harmony Ultimate One. On TV: cable box is plugged into HDMI 1, HDMI 2 (ARC) to LG Soundbar. On the soundbar (SK10Y) I have Apple 4k TV into HDMI 1, and LG (UBK90) Blu-Ray Player in HDMI 2.

Everything seems to turn on/off correctly, but the Soundbar input doesn't switch to the appropriate HDMI input.

I solved he issue by returning the SK10Y and going back to an AVR. Much better sound, many fewer issues, and actually simpler to operate. The downside is the wiring. I’m very glad to be rid of the LG. It’s full of quirks and mediocre sound.

I don't know about this soundbar. I feel like Atmos is amazing and everything is balanced perfect. For other 5.1 movies and shows I'm not sure I've got the hang of it. I just passed my 45 day window with BB and can't return it. I just feel like I constantly have to change settings.

I'm jealous of the Samsung n950 that was released today. That has an extra two overheads to give 7.1.4 and also does DTSX. The reviews for it have been amazing too.
I was secretly hoping, as it neared release date that it would be awful with no DV pass through or connectivity issues, but it's supposed to be perfect. If only there was a form of trade in scheme as my SK10Y is only about 2 months old.

I got rid of my K950 too before getting the SK10Y with rears. The disconnection issues were driving me crazy. I really like the SK10Y don't get me wrong, I just wanted a soundbar that does everything we could want

I think at this point it would be nice to have dtsx but I do not feel it will happen with the lg but knew that going in.

Interested how the extra two ceiling firing speakers would work in my room.

Based on the K950 I had it does add to the height effect but I think over all the lg offers a wider and more totally immersive soundstage than my previous Samsung did. The side speakers and wider bar I am sure add to that. Not saying the new Samsung is not a great speaker.

I thought that the side speakers on the SK10Y were something to do with phase matching/cancelling, not for actually firing wide sound.

Agree, the side speakers add to the wideness
of the soundscape as do the rears giving it a more
immersive sound. Many have said you can likely
buy a better unit or stay with a wired 5.1 AV system
but no buyers remorse here at all.

I used sk10y for a week now, and I am impressed. I only watched 3d movies, so no atmos yet. I just received Avengers Infinity War in 4k and 3d, and 3d was great with dts. I will watch it again with 4k atmos soon.

I think it's still supposed to be more powerful than the Samsung n950. It's certainly larger.

Ok so when watching Blurays with 5.1 sound from all the speakers all the time. Like I hear people's voices even in the rear speakers. This in standard mode with surround on.

Too expensive for my tastes. At that price I could have ceiling speakers installed. I went with a soundbar to avoid that since WAF is a major issue.

Liking the soundbar so far. Also mine didn't have the info and new stickers on the top out of the box, so that might have stopped for bars with newer build dates. I know a previous sound bar I had came with a sticker and I could always faintly tell where it was.

Atmos content sounds really great. Haven't tried any DTS-X content yet to see how that sounds. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread with their setups. I have it in standard mode with surround mode off.

So is the recommended setting for non Atmos material standard with surround off? Even fo4 5.1 tracks?

I haven't tried much 5.1 content. I know with anything that's just stereo, mostly cable tv for me, has huge volume level changes when in surround mode.

I have surround on for 5.1, but have to switch between Standard and Movie mode depending on the show, otherwise voice can get weak on certain shows in Standard mode, like Indycar races on cable tv 5.1 need to be in Movie mode to hear announcers best.
