Sonos Playbar question

I know that the Sonos Playbar is somewhat dated technology. Would it be acceptable for normal TV viewing and streaming movie watching?

Are there any real sound differences between wall mounting a Playbar or placing it flat on a console? Any other advantages of one over the other?

Against the wall will give a little more bass and play slightly louder.

It's a speaker. I'm not sure those ever really become dated. My problem is it turns itself off after a period of inactivity. I have a Bose SoundTouch 300 in the bedroom and the Sonos Playbar in the living room and the auto turn-off is pretty annoying. The Bose doesn't have that problem.

Check the autoplay settings in the play bar. I think that is what it is called. I don't remember if it is best to turn it on or off but try it both ways.
