To save everyone the click, it's listed at $449.

That's a fantastic MSRP. I would expect the 5.1.4 to weigh in at maybe $599 then (or maybe I'm being really optimistic)

I was thinking the same thing! That would be amazing! Hopefully they announce the price soon.

Do these soundbars support DTS:X? 5.1.2 and 5.1.4. I can’t find clear answer on the web.

@thaiusmle I don't think none of these bars will have DTS:X decoding unfortunately, who knows, maybe Vizio will give us that later on with a firmwate update.

My current mancave room setup:
Vizio V436-G1 4K HDR TV | LG UBK90 4K Blu-ray player | Denon AVR-S740H AV Receiver (running 5.1.2 Atmos/DTS:X) | Xbox One X | Amazon Fire Stick 4K

FWIW they've got the 5.1.4 model included in this comparison page: https://www.vizio.com/sound-bar-comparison
It shows the unit having Atmos, DTS-HD MA decoding with DTS:Virtual X listed below that as audio enhancement technology.

I'd be very happy if it had 2 inputs. I'd be ecstatic if it had 3 (doubtful to happen - but I can wish!)

I don't understand why none of these soundbars usually come with more than 1-2 hdmi inputs....certainly these components probably only cost a mere few dollars for a company like Vizio to buy....Seems like soundbars are the perfect solution....except the cumbersome inputs thing.

Can soundbars integrate with AVRs? Or maybe with speakers?

Like maybe pass through HDMI to AVRs or speakers output for rear speakers you may already have?

You don't really need many inputs if you're using the TV's HDMI ARC to connect to the soundbar. Because the components could be connected to the TV's many HDMI ports instead and the audio will flow through the ARC to the soundbar. The only downside is that you'd get lossy ATMOS on DD+ instead of pure ATMOS, and there could be some latency issues for ATMOS processing. But the difference in Dolby ATMOS and DD+ ATMOS is minute considering we are listening to the signal with upfiring speakers in a non-treated room. If you had a pro setup with in-ceiling speakers, a treated room and multiple surround speakers, you'd notice a difference. The soundbars will not even get you close to this type of experience so it's ok to have lossy ATMOS on DD+ and sticking with the 1 HDMI ARC. Latency though could be a bitch, though manufacturers do release firmware updates that fix it. LG C7 has had some of these issues when Netflix was passing ATMOS over ARC to ATMOS soundbars or AVRs, but they managed to fix that up. Hopefully with a Vizio TV and a Vizio ATMOS soundbar, there should be no compatability issue. But then again the LG issue occurred with the LG SJ9 soundbar.. so who knows. Sorry for rambling

I have a relatively new Vizio P65-F1 and I can't figure out what audio codecs the ARC supports. But I want to use a Apple TV (for purchases and screen sharing) and a Shield TV for their full Plex player app. (The TV app chokes on some 4K content.) And even if the ARC supports ATMOS, it's only for streaming services and not for local sources played through the TV's Plex app, correct? (It'd be the Dolby Digital Plus like you said, and not the full deal ATMOS I have on my plex server.)

2 HDMI inputs isn't that big of an ask, hopefully we'll find out in the next couple days.

Not sure if this violates forum rules, but where are you all finding the SK10Y for only $500?? I am tired of waiting for Vizio, so would at least test out the SK10Y for awhile and return if the Vizio releases within the month (unless I end up loving the LG)
PM me.

My concern is whether improvements have been made to the 5.1 base on the 5.1.4 because going from a 5.1 soundbar to a 5.1.4 soundbar is a bit more of a sidestep for me as I would like. A 7.1.4 bar would be great but Samsung is the only manufacturer currently offering it and its price is way up there and it will be at least a year before all the bugs are out.

I was personally hoping they were going by theoretical summer June-August but I guess everyone uses the official dates of June 21-Sept 21 now.

I think this was a joke about summer almost ending before the announcement.

Nice that means it’s coming soon. I just sold my SB4531-D5 & waiting for the 5.1.4 patiently. Built in speakers suck big time lol
