Soundbar recommendations

I would appreciate some recommendations for a soundbar. I have a LG C8 77 inch sitting on a stand. I want to place the soundbar on a shelf just below the TV. I have been told that upfiring Dolby Atmos speakers will not work well in this situation (speakers will bounce sound against the underside of the stand). I do not want rear speakers. I am looking for a mid priced ($300-700?) soundbar mostly for movies and TV. The Yamaha 207, the Samsung 650, and the Sony Z9f are the leading contenders right now. The Sony is $900, the Yamaha is $300, and the Samsung is $350. I am trying to decide if the Sony is worth the extra $$$. It is hard for me to appreciate any difference standing in a noisy Best Buy store between these options. I would appreciate any advice.

I can't speak for the others of course, but I think the 207 is great value for money. You can often shave some extra pennies off, too.

Assuming your don't have an aversion to open box items, I got my Z9F from BB for $550 in 'excellent' condition at my local store. Looks great, had all packaging/parts except the Atmos demo disk and everything works. Amazon has them occasionally from the warehouse that are still NIB but the description reads "Packaging will have damage". I got the rear speakers that way, still factory sealed in a damaged box, for a good deal off. Don't see any at the moment there, but if you are diligent you will see them.

Just a thought.

Just installed the Vizio 5.1.2 soundbar for my parents ($330 @ Costco). CNET recommended. It's on the cheaper side of your budget. But, I was truly impressed with what they have done for that price.

I tried out the Samsung ms650 and was pretty impressed with it. I ultimately returned it because I wanted more bass, though the bass it had was quite impressive. It sounded very good for tv/movies and music as well. So does the cheaper Polk Signa

I purchased the Samsung MS650 yesterday.

I agree it is light on bass but I am ok with that.

Set up is super easy.

So far, I really like it.

Thanks to all for the advice.

How is it in comparison with MS750? I heard 750 and found very very good. Unfortunately, both 650 and 750 are way beyond my budget. So I am looking for something cheaper but in comparison with 750 in sound quality.

Can anyone suggest me how this is: amazon dot com dot au/SoundBar-Subwoofers-Soundbar-Wireless-Mountable/dp/B07B3TV7HR/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=SoundBar&qid=1559092969&s=gate way&sr=8-2

Also, if this is also same like the above: ebay dot com dot au /itm/90W-2-1-Home-Theater-Soundbar-Bluetooth-Sound-Bar-Speaker-w-Built-in-Subwoofer/263539683283?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SI M%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140106155344%26meid%3De2e2478 ff5eb4a818f7386827123f7a3%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D6% 26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D173907128110%26itm%3D26353968328 3&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

I am in Australia so not all Soundbars will be available here.

PLs help recommending me a soundbar which is around AU $100-150 and have great sound like MS750.

The Polk Signa S2. I just picked one up and am very happy with it so far. Equally happy for tv/movies and music, which surprised me.
