2020 eARC soundbards are trickling out...

First for 2020 is LG:
Quote:
Connectivity will be easier than ever with the addition of enhanced audio return channel (eARC) so owners can plug external devices directly into their eARC compatible TVs and enjoy three-dimensional sound of high-resolution audio formats such as Dolby True HD or DTS Master Audio.

Klipsch is next up:
Quote:
HDMI-eARC connects to TV with a single HDMI cable, control the bar with your TV remote

Vizio:
Quote:
The step-up audio performance in the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X-equipped M-Series and Elevate models is paired with HDMI 2.1 inputs, along with eARC support, which allows the TV to pass through the highest quality, uncompressed, lossless Dolby and DTS audio signals from eARC-supported sources.

Creative Labs:
Quote:
  • HDMI eARC port for uncompressed and lossless HD audio
  • Two HDMI 2.1 inputs with 8K passthrough for rich sound and high-resolution picture quality

Interesting...wondering what we might see from Sony, too. Their HTST5000 is overdue for an update.

Man I really hope they'll consider updating their 2019 soundbars, my SL10YG specifically, to eARC standards! I'm assuming that hardware-wise the soundbar is capable, what do you think the chances are they'll do it?

None percent chance as Andy Bernard would say.

That's pretty cool honestly. I want to try them and see what they're like.

Made my first website that I think turned out pretty good. Hopefully it's helpful to somebody. https://easyhometheater.net/

Troll Alert! Some people don't have the space for full setups, how is this so hard for people like you to understand.

Exactly, our main "TV" room doesn't have a square wall in it to even set a TV at a normal angle. There isn't a way to put speakers in the ceiling. And, there is no "back" wall. So with a TV that has to be oriented diagonally in a corner and with no room for speakers to either side do to a door and a bay window, if I want any kind of "better than TV speaker" sound, a soundbar is my only option.

Look at his sig, he's building out a home theater so he thinks he's Sid Grauman.

Can you point me to the official definition of what constitutes a home theater so I can post in the correct "have a tv and some speakers in a room in my house that we watch movies on" thread.

Yes you're the troll because you wrongly assume soundbars can't be good and come into a thread(in a soundbar subcategory) and dump on other people who for one reason or another are interested in the new soundbars.
