Soundbar speaker/subwoofer crossover issues?

I was prepared to get the Yamaha YAS-207, but in the threads on here some people reported issues with vocals moving in odd ways between the main bar and the subwoofer. Someone reported talking to Yamaha about this and they said it's the nature of the beast: for a simple system like this the crossover with the sub is high enough it will catch parts of some vocals, leading to this bounding/dropping sound.

Is this just something you have live with when using a soundbar with sub solution? Or do others have the crossover low enough the sub is only handling truly subwoofer frequencies?

I don’t have this problem with my Samsung N950.

It did show up when I used my Oppo 203 to add a second sub. But I was able to adjust the crossover to correct the problem.

Nvidia Shield - Zidoo X9S - HTPC/MPC-HC
Oppo 203 - Samsung HW-N950 - 7.2.4
