Budget passive soundbar? (ie what should I put under my TV with my new Marantz AVR)

I've been able to pickup a brand new Marantz NR-1608 AVR for a fantastic price but I don't have any speakers (in that room).

The TV is positioned next to a wall opening so I don't have any room to the right side for a floor-standing/other speaker.

I think a soundbar under the TV would be the perfect fit but I want to utilize the Marantz AVR because it seems pretty decent and decodes basically all audio formats.

I've done some research and it looks like there aren't any decent BUDGET ($200) passive 2.1 channel soundbars. If I raise the budget to $500 it still seems there aren't many options. Up around the $1000 range I think you can get a GoldenEar soundbar, etc but that's currently way out of my price range.

Can anybody give me any suggestions?

I’m interested in what you’ve found or find. I want to keep using my Yamaha receiver, but maybe move to a passive soundbar under pressure from my wife.
