HK SB16 sound bar problem pairing with Samsung RU8000 TV

I own a Harman Kardon SB16 soundbar and subwoofer. They worked great on my Sony Bravia TV. Now, I just purchased a Samsung UN49RU8000F Smart 4K UHD TV. I'm an using optical cable connection and the TV recognizes the soundbar. However, after many attempts at setting changes, cable switching, internet searching and HK tech support I cannot find a way control the volume with the TV remote. I can manually increase and decrease the volume but that's all. Does anyone have advice to help solve this problem? Thank you.

I believe to control a non Samsung soundbar with the RU8000 TV remote, the TV and soundbar have to be connected with a HDMI cable (HDMI- ARC).

Hi Ssung. Yes, I realized that but the soundly does not have an HDMI port. I did figure it out, tho. I bought an amazon fire stick and was able to connect them that way. Thanks for replying.
