Convert 2D to 3D

Is there a free program that is able to convert my 2D videos to 3D?
I just purchased a TV that supports 3D playback and want to have a try and enjoy 3D movies.

It's possible that your TV may already have this feature.

I have owned two TVs that supposedly auto-convert 2D to 3D, but they are honestly pretty bad at it. When movies are actually produced in 3D, it's a lot of manual work to apply it, and the director will control how it's done, and the result is exquisite. The automatic conversions done by a TV are just making guesses, so it's regularly wrong and an unwatchable experience. If you want to enjoy 3D movies, you should just buy some 3D discs, or rent from something like https://www.store-3d-blurayrental.com. Hope that helps!

If you use a computer try PowerDVD -- it has a 2D to 3D conversion, which is pretty good if you set intensity to around 30%.

The 2016 LG OLEDs have the best 2D to 3D conversion I've seen from any manufacturer; however, you have to go into 3D settings and set it to manual and set point-of-view to -5 or -6 and depth to around +15 or so.
