You can also just email Sony pictures with a picture of your digital download code and let them know you wanted the 3D copy and had to import. Universal and Warner Bros have given me a Canadian code a couple of times because of it.

Also worth noting that some have received their German copies of the 3D disc (mines on its way) Yes it is region free but the comic like thought bubbles that appear throughout the movie have German language only and can’t be switched to English. The Italian import is still English but the German copy seems to be the odd duck out

Thanks everyone

This is all good to know. I hadn't thought about the balloons in the movie not being in English. I'll have to be careful about what to buy.

I'm still buying the 3D version though. Just wanted to give a heads up.

***UPDATE***
Everyone in the comment section of the YouTube video is saying that the 3D is actually superb. Not sure if the review is giving a correct representation of the 3D version. Might have to do with the settings of the projector which he used to watch the 3D version. But do know that Shane from Spare Change is a very respected blu-ray reviewer.
I purchased and watched the 3D Spanish version titled Spider-Man Un Nuevo Universo. While I thought it looked good the 3D element was not always obvious. There were scenes where the 3D stood out but much of the film lacked the depth I was expecting considering this is an animation. I viewed this 3D disc on an Epson HC4000 projector on a 120" screen, perhaps it looks better on a direct view HDTV.

Waiting on my copy still, ordered off eBay. I inquired if they are shipping yet but he said he had all preorders filled thru March 20th and is waiting on another batch from India. Mine's the India release I guess. So I'm probably another couple weeks out.

This line intentionally left blank.

Oh geez, I didn't know about the bubbles as I haven't seen it yet. Fortunately, I don't think that will be an issue for many/any movies.

Where did you get your from, or rather, which country version did you get? I think a lot of people got the Indian version from ebay sellers Rahul and I. I ordered from ebay from My Name is Adam, not sure where he sources his 3D movies from. It already shipped this week so hopefully will find out soon.

Anyone know if there is any other 3d release of this movie besides from India? Or at least, any version with English thought balloons?

I ordered the 4K+3D version from Amazon.fr. Expected delivery May 21-23. We are more than cool with the balloons in French.

Wish it had English bubbles but if my version is not then I may sell it. Are there a lot of bubbles in the movie (haven't seen it yet)? Guess it'll depend on how much of it is in the movie.

So my version is the Indian release. Does anyone else have this version and if so can you confirm what language the bubbles are in? I assume Hindi or something but English is possible since it's India and a lot of people there speak English... at least the folks buying 3D blu-rays...

Are these "bubbles" a Blu-ray special feature you can turn off or were they in the actual movie shown at the theater?

Haven't seen it yet but apparently they are comic strip/book type thought or speech bubbles that are part of the movie and unfortunately translated into the native language of whatever version you buy. So without a 3D version from an English speaking country, you will have to deal with bubbles in a different language. I'm curious how much the bubbles are featured in the movie, but either way I will probably sell my Indian market version on eBay.

From the bluray forum boards. So far they have confirmed that both the India and Italy release are with English thought bubbles. So far, only the German copy (on all formats) are German Only bubble wise and can’t be changed. Someone posted a screen grab on the forum too

It's encoded into the movie visuals itself, like comic book style thought bubbles. This appears mostly just after Myles gets bitten and goes to school the next day puzzling out his new spider powers.

Because I'm in the same boat, what excuse are you going to use to not have to pay for shipping back?

I have the india 3d version. Does anyone else have issues where the 3d looks flat and not like a normal cgi 3d movie. Also a ton of cross talking (ghosting). This is the worst 3d movie i own.

Anyone else having with these issues.

My brother owns the italian version and his has the same issue with the 3d looking flat and a ton of ghosting. The same scenes as the india version.

Some of the crosstalking (ghosting) issues scenes.

While miles leaves his house onto school there is a pole that is ghosted.

While in cop car with his dad. His dad while looking back (backseat view) in one scene gets blurry and ghosts.

While miles takes his blue bag from his dads car is extremely blurred and ghosted.

While female teacher is telling miles about him knowing his studies, but not applying himself on purpose. Her head and hair is blurred and extremely ghosted.

When down in the subway tunnel, miles painted on the wall. Him and his uncle are sitting on a couch. Both of them are blurred and ghosted.

In the previous scene on my brothers 3d tv the white paint on the wall was ghosted. Mine didnt have ghosting.

There are more scenes of ghosting while spiderman is fighting green goblin.

I gave up watching this after all the ghosting and flat looking 3d.

I contacted the ebay seller. He said to reach out to 3d community to see if others are having the same problems.

Not me, I was surprised how good the 3d was, most notably the city street scenes. I'm watching on BenQ TH671st with True Depth 3d glasses.

The ghosting you see might be the films attempt at recreating color bleeds from comic books, (newsprint printing error). Look at the 2d version to check if there is the same effect.

It's intentionally done in that style (double images, colour/chroma offsets, blurred areas), best to check the 2D version as people say to get a good reference for what the film actually looks like. It's definitely not a normal CGI movie so does take a while to get used to (I was disappointed the first time I watched it in the cinemas in 3D as well until I saw it in 2D).

Just something to remember, ghosting/crosstalk is never on the disc, it's your equipment.
