I was really surprised at how good the 3D was in Infinity War; the 3D in prior Marvel movies made by the Russo brothers was pretty much an afterthought and I was similarly expecting to write Infinity War as well. But the depth and pop were both outstanding and it ended up being one of the best Marvel movie 3D presentations. Here's hoping they can come up with something comparable with Endgame.

Will watch this in 3D IMAX for sure if it's playing locally, at least if it's not a laser 3D since my glasses don't support that format.

Be curious if anyone else concurs that some of this 3D was pretty great, but some was downright awful.
During a scene that pans across various characters towards the very end of the film, I took off my glasses because I wasn't even certain the scene was in 3D. Distortion galore in that scene.

I thought the 3D throughout the film was excellent, at least at a standard set in Infinity War. Towards the end since a lot of shots are quite dark that could be problematic but if the cinema has calibrated their projector properly for this the audience should still be OK.

I thought the 3D was good. I did not notice any distortion.

One thing about being a 3D fan is that I didn't have to buy my tickets in advance. I went to the early show on opening day (10:45 a.m.) and there were plenty of seats available for the early 3D show, while 2D shows were packed, judging by all the cars in the parking lot.

I have been to quite a few 3D shows in the afternoon where I was the only person in the auditorium. This does not bode well for the future of 3D, but it will probably remain available in theaters as long as James Cameron keeps making Avatar movies.

After a couple more views of the show, I recognize that most of the 3D is good, but still felt there was significant distortion in one of the final scenes where they are panning across all the characters. Don't care to specify further as to not spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen.

RE: 3D showings. I didn't look at Friday morning showings, but Thursday night showing I went to at 6:30 P.M 3D Giant Screen was mostly sold out (save for very front row), the IMAX 3D 10:30 Thursday night I went to was completely sold out, and the Saturday 3:10 P.M XD 3D showing was jam packed (again, completely sold out except for front row).
Even Sunday morning at 7:30 in 2D XD was mostly sold (didn't attend this showing, but was curious to see how many seats were reserved a few days prior).
My buddy said Monday morning was mostly empty in 3D standard theater (non-XD). But honestly that could be more because it was a weekday/workday morning than because it was in 3D.

For all three showings I went to, bought my tickets at 4:50-5:00 A.M the morning tickets became available.

I'm not surprised about crowded evening showings for this film. I am retired, so I can attend weekday morning or afternoon shows. Also, Laramie is a small city, so I usually don't have to stand in line long for anything.

I usually go to Monday shows since one theater in town has a senior special ($5 for 2D, $6.50 for 3D and large format with Atmos) but their earliest 3D show on Monday was 6:30 p.m., and I knew that would be crowded (I don't like infected people in flu season coughing up their lungs on the back of my head) so I opted for the Friday morning show.

It wasn't crowded and the "early bird special" ticket price was cheap, $7.

I went to a 9:30 am XD 3D screening in Las Vegas. It was about 75% full, which was a pleasant surprise.

Just saw Endgame in mini-IMAX (smaller than official IMAX screen, but bigger than normal and curved). 1.90:1 format vs, the 2.39:1 format of the 2D version. I expect the bluray to be a mixed format as is usual for IMAX 3D movie converted to bluray.

Well, as usual, I had to wear earplugs. Our AMC turns up the volume to max. Glasses were warped and highly used--they had a lot of cleaning residue on them. After a few wipes with a napkin, they were okay. Next time I will take a lens cloth with me. A lot of the movie breaks the 3D window plane, and I like that. Many scenes were not true 3D friendly (ie. everything in focus), it was more of a typical 2D movie. 3D conversion was great for depth, though, and the layered cgi tech detail was some of the best I've seen. 3D eye separation varied and well beyond 2.5 inches, so make sure you don't sit too close, especially if you have kids with you. About halfway up the seating is good and get seats in the middle. There were about 10 people at the Thursday 12:30p.m. showing and they had reserved seating--I guess they were expecting bigger crowds, probably on weekends.

Now here is the WTH moment--while waiting for the movie, they had an interactive cellphone game app going that they encouraged the audience to use. Everyone had their cellphones going. At movie start, still many had theirs on. What really got to me, was the fact that this was supposed to be a long 3hr. movie, but here is the head-scratcher. It is posted at 3-hrs and two minute. The movie was supposed to start at 12:30p.m. At that time they showed previews, and that lasted almost 20 minutes! So, about 12:50p.m., the movie started and at about 3:20pm., about 2.5 hours, it finished. So another WTH moment. Was this a cut-down version? Or did they include the previews as part of the movie?

Anyone???

The movie is 3 hours long. You may need to contact the cinema to find out what's going on as it should have finished at about 3:50 pm (end of credits).

Kudos to Disney? For what ? throwing us a bone by only providing a 3d release overseas.....and most likely with a watered down soundtrack! LOL! I know what you mean obviously We are just thrilled that we get a 3d option at this point... but it just shows how things have deteriorated lately.....

The credits started around 3:20p.m. so in my mind that is the end of the movie. Movie started at 12:50p.m. and credits started at 3:20p.m, and I can't imagine the credits would take 30 minutes--but I could be wrong. Anyway, I was home by 3:50p.m. The theater cleared out by 3:25p.m. I will follow up with AMC, but it really is weird.

If it's all region, which it seems to be, then probably so.

Just received an e-mail from Amazon UK tonight that the bluray 3d release date of Endgame is now listed as unknown (uncertain). Originally was informed it would be released Mid September. A bit concerning, I am hoping 3d blurays are not becoming scarce in the UK. Several 3d releases have not been released in the UK, but in other European countries.
