Seems unlikely given the direction Disney is moving with 3D, but Dumbo at least has a 3D preorder so fingers crossed...

I have no interest in seeing it, but the 3-D in the "Aladdin" trailer I saw prior to "Avengers-Endgame" was impressive.

The question is well greedy Disney release this in Blu-ray 3D in Region one if at all worldwide. The fact I have to ask this question is so amazingly annoying it boggles my mind. We are a niche audience that Disney promoted and now gives the finger to. So greedy and wrong.

I placed my pre-order for the 3D Steelbook last night (Zavvi, UK)
No way that one will ever make it to North America on its own from Disney.

I was just watching TV when the movie trailer commercial came on and I noticed it was a scope (2.35:1) image
But quite a few visual effects extended beyond into the letter-box (aka black bars) on my TV. Had to stop, scroll back to double check, pause, Yup!

Should make for great 3D when I fire up the JVC and drop my 16:9 120" screen.
The last time I saw that used effectively was Ghostbusters Answer the Call (the one with the Women)

With the plasma streams and effects shooting beyond the scope image right into the black bars,
(sorry scope screen users, you would never know it happened)

Don’t expect those on disc. Disney did the same thing with Dumbo and Jungle Book commercials if I’m not mistaken, and I know for sure Jungle Book disc didn’t get. I would love to see them on disc (and theatres) but I don’t think it’s happening. Placed my Zavvi steelbook order in though

I saw Aladdin in 3D at a local theater. It was between this and the second John Wick sequel, and I chose this with no regrets.

The 3D looks good. No popouts, but good depth.

The two lead actors, Mena Massoud (Aladdin) and Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine) are both capable performers and good singers. Much of the music from the original film is reused in this remake. The music is excellent, especially compared to current musicals.

It has been a long time since I saw the original film, but I definitely missed the absence of the late, transcendent Robin Williams and the comedic voice of Gilbert Gottfried in this one.

Overall, not bad, a pleasant romantic musical adventure.

I would buy the 3D bluray, if one ever becomes available at a decent price.

Saw Aladdin and Dumbo in 3D this past week and both were disappointing on story but excellent image quality for 3D. These are good for little girls ages 7-12.

I watched it and thought it was a hit on all levels. 3D is great as we have come to expect from Disney, clear and clean image. Sound great too. Colorful sets and costumes...pure eye candy. Story line...a fun ride...well redone classic. Superb disc all the way around. This is one that every 3D fan needs in their collection in my opinion.

My copy finally arrived today from Amazon.UK.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Terrific 3D conversion, awesome, colorful eye candy! Very good audio for a recent Disney release as well.

I can understand the debate over these live-action Disney remakes where they really aren't necessary. But this one was fun to watch, especially in 3D. Nothing will or can replace the original but I think this can exist alongside it without disrespecting it.

I couldn't imagine watching this in 2D. Ever.

I don't know what I'm going to do when my C6 OLED bites the dust. It just simply has to last forever. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Watch other tv's in your home for general tv duty...save your rare 3D Oled for movie's only.

I went so far as to buy a 2015 LED/LCD 65" 3D LG UF8500 (used for $1000) and planted it right in front of my unplugged and covered (for over a year now) C6. And I use the UF8500 for movie's only. Plenty of other 2D only tv's in the house for general tv duty. Also have a 42" Vizo 3D tv...only has a 1080p screen, sitting in a closet that works fine. I also run all my electronics through cheap (stage 1) power conditioners. Would love to get better ones.

Unless they bring back 3D tv's...they will just will become rarer and rarer as the worlds existing 3D tv's fail one by one as time goes by. The 3D discs will become worthless as failures occur and folks put their (now pointless) 3D collections up on Ebay into a market with fewer and fewer buyers. But the 3D tv's themselves, ones in good working order...will hold their value well.

I'm hoping for 8k 3D tv's to hit the market...for a true passive 4K experience. Would be awesome. But I'm not holding my breath.

Think I'm good 3D wise till I get thrown into a nursing home

My 3D Vizio failed a couple years ago. Half the screen went dark. I was able to find a main board on EBAY and replaced it myself. All plugin connections. Turned it on and all perfect again. I also have a backup for my Home Theater projector, just sitting on the shelf ready to go.

But I keep reminding everyone 3D is not going away. It is evolving with HMD and the 3D is even better on those. Just not yet ready for 3D movies. Documentaries and travel videos are really great in 3D VR. As the goggles get higher resolution, these will be the next best way to watch 3D movies too. Watching sports and pro wrestling is fascinating in 3D WWE does an excellent job with 3D wrestling.

I recognize that many of you limit your horizons in 3D to just Hollywood movies, but there is a whole lot of other content and display methods available for those willing to expand their list of choices.

My favorite use is the self contained Oculus Go and Quest that allows me to enjoy content on a Virtual large screen. Certainly better than watching a movie in 2D on a hotel TV. If you haven't tried it you don't know what you are missing.

Nice! I paid a AVS member $2000 (+paypal fees) for his 5 year old 65" Sony UHD TV (that sadly doesn't support [email protected]), plus I paid for the $500 freight shipping (a nerve wracking experience... I don't recommend it to anyone unless desperate like me). Was it worth it to get great passive 3D on a 65" TV that I love... yes! It came in like new condition (like absolutely no dust anywhere even) so that helped.

Hope 3D lives on in projectors, where apparently it doesn't add as much cost as in TVs (I'm guessing).

In my case a friend who was hunting for a used 3D Oled (after seeing mine) came across it on the internet and told me about it...about an hour drive north of Tampa. Lady had it in an upstairs guest bedroom. I took my 3D player and a couple 3D movies with me to test it out. Despite being one year older than my C6 it had fewer hours, around 1500. She had never watched a 3D movie on it...or any Bluray movies for that matter as it was just hooked up to cable tv. 3D looked great on it...did not even try to talk her down...happily gave her what she was asking, and we struggled to get it downstairs and into the truck. Been in love with it ever since.

Nice. I wanted to get a LG passive 3D OLED but only wanted to buy new and just couldn't find anything, only one or two that were crazy expensive (like $5k or more) so I went LCD. I love the TV though (and have the 55" version too) so it worked out for me. Just hoping that 3D (passive, specifically) will make a grand return someday for when this one goes kaput!

Man, I love you guys for not making me feel crazy!

Started with a 55" C6 in May 2017, since then I purchased:

A 65" HU8700 (great TV aside from the blooming!) for $480 with a 3K OCB.

Picked up a 55" VT30 for free from a member here!

Found someone selling a UH8500 for $600 relatively close to me (some annoying dimming issues due to some of the zones in the center being darker than the rest)!

The VT30 is my backup TV at the moment (tons of hours on this bad boy), HU8700 is my father's main TV (also a lot of hours on this set), UH8500 is my main TV (lotta hours), the C6P is my bedroom, movie-only TV (less than 900 hours!).

Passive 3D on future 8K/super high nit displays would be AMAZING. Short of either the UH or the HU dying, the only set I can see myself purchasing in the future would be an 8K set that supports 4K 120hz with passive 4K SBS/OU 3D support! Otherwise, TVs are going to stay where they are and I'll get a better/bigger monitor for gaming (first VA panel to get FALD/hit ~700+ nits while supporting HDMI 2.1's 120hz+VRR is getting my $$).
