International delivery only to Austria and Switzerland.

The good news is there is a 3D box set + UHD being released. BOLO for the UK version.

I don't know where you got that - the Amazon.de listing clearly states "this item can be delivered to the United States" and I had no trouble placing an order. Universal seems to be involved with the international distribution, which could account for why this is announced. However, I won't believe it until it gets closer to February.....time will tell.

I went to the link for international shipping and that was what was listed. Good luck with your delivery. BTW- Did you confirm the language was in English on that German release?

I have had better luck with UK Amazon, so I'll wait.

I can't think of one example of a major studio releasing an English language film in an international market without an English option. (A few Chinese films have been released in Germany without an English friendly option). There is no chance the English soundtrack isn't included. BTW, it appears a less expensive version which omits the 4K disc is also coming.

It sounds like many overthink importing. It's not a big deal, really. You just have to understand that Amazon's listings are incorrect or incomplete much of the time regarding region coding and such, as they are often a cut and paste job from elsewhere. Paramount, Universal and Warner Brothers have never region restricted their discs, but some other studios do. One just has to learn the trends and maybe dig a bit further to get the real scoop.

Funny thing - some of my orders from Amazon UK now ship from Germany, Austria, or Spain, even though the discs are the UK versions.

I saw it in London in 120fps 3D Dolby Vision and Atmos and although the movie didn't have a hugely interesting story, it did challenge new cinema methods and when Ang Lee is more about the emotion than the fight scenes, he does a great Job with the action and overall it is not to bad.

But I find it interesting that they don't release it in 720p 3D at 60fps on Blu-ray as I heard this was possible? this would then challenge new home cinema methods and people might buy it

can anyone confirm that it is possible to make a 720/60fps 3D Blu ray?

Yes, it is. The FIFA 2010 3D disc from Sony, as an example.
