In Theaters Now

Given the brutal reviews and the lowest X-Men movie opening box office, we are not likely to see a 3D Blu-ray. If you want to see it in 3D, see it in the theaters before it is gone.

Enjoyed Dark Phoenix Surprisingly Good.

3D was good. The critics may have their own prejudices (as they've always had) but X-Men : Dark Phoenix is a thoroughly enjoyable ride. It's dark and brooding but vibrant and action-packed as well. The Dark Phoenix Saga from Marvel Comics has been adequately adapted for the screen

Spoiler!

Well, as a fan of the comic back in the 80s-90s, I will definitely buy this one. I just hope the 3D release doesn't get scrapped due to the abysmal (the only way to describe a $35M domestic opening weekend with a drop to under $3M the second weekend) box office performance.

Cinemascore.com has it rated B- which is pretty low for an audience survey score (tied with Ma, The Intruder, Annabelle Comes Home).

Yep, it's 3D or streaming for me most of the time unless the streaming option is cropped to 16x9, in which case I have to buy the movie (usually cheap at least) on blu-ray.

Dark Phoenix is such a classic story for the X-Men that it's nice to see it finally get a proper treatment on the big screen (and I guess it's fitting that it's the last of the Fox X-Men movies before Disney reboots it), just hate the rebooted casting of the last four X-Men movies. Basically a lesson in how not to cast a big brand comic book movie.

its cool though as all these "reboots" are saving me money lol. for me its 3d if the movies was released in the theater via 3d or bluray. i will buy some movies in 4k if i really want to keep it and then mostly do redbox blue rentals. we dont have the 4k rentals here yet. its really looking like im getting down to my last buyable movies if thats possible.

so you saw dark phoenix at the theater? was it visually a quality movie? ive put it on my 3d watch list as of now :D

Nope, haven't watched it but will preorder it if it ever gets announced since I love X-Men so much, even with its B-movie cast.

So another title not getting a Blu ray 3D release? I kind of want this one in 3D. Even if the movie is so-so. Disappointing.

I thought that spiderman far from home wasn't supposed to get a 3d bluray but yet now i have it preordered. So chin up maybe it will happen. :)

Yeah, but look how close we are to the 4K/Blu ray release, releasing Sept. 17th. Far From Home is still a couple months out. I don't think it will happen for Dark Phoenix.

It doesn't look likely with Disney doing the distribution, they have been irregular with their 3D releases of late (Aladdin, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame vs Ralph Breaks the Internet (JP only) vs no releases in various regions), my guess is with the poor box office showing they're not going to bother unless it's a 3D digital streaming release. Kind of a shame since Days of Future Past/Apocalypse was actually filmed in 3D. Having seen Dark Phoenix it really did seem like a "made to order" film that not everyone was keen on making it successful (generally everyone involved it seems).
