Vizio M49-C1, $500 at Costco, worth it?

I know this has an IPS panel, which I've read has dropped its value and attraction. And I've tried to see the 50" and the 49" side-by-side, but haven't had the opportunity. Knowing that the 50" is about $730, is that giant price difference worth the loss of contrast drop off? Is it really that apparent?
PS-a better viewing angle would be a plus in my book.

I wonder if it is worth it compared to the Samsung 620 that Costco has for $599 after rebate or Dell has for $648 and comes with $200 Dell gift card later:

I know that the 49" will still be $500 at Costco, that special runs through 11/30, so that covers Black Friday. I thought the same thing, I'm waiting to either see the 2 side-by-side, or see if the 50" drops for Black Friday into the same range.

Looks like they are all sold out at the moment.

Menards is advertising a 42" 4K TV for $300. I have no idea what the brand is. Personally, I wouldn't buy a set smaller than 49" these days.

Call your local costco, and give them I believe item number #491149 , or just the Model Number. My two closest were sold out, but a Costco 30 minutes away had two left. I purchased it last night (still haven't calibrated the colours) but on the Vivid setting watching UHD content on Netflix is amazing. It looks amazing, especially for the price!

Is this Vizio a good set for a ps4 or xbox-1 set-up for gaming & hd tv watching?
