Amazon now has it for $2798 on Prime. Might go get Best Buy to price match. They will match as long as it is shipped from and sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party seller.

Using amazon prime card gives back 5% in rewards isn't it a better deal?
Or is it much easier to work out issues (e.g. dead pixel) with BB vs Amazon?

You can get back rewards if you use a BB credit card. Or you can get extended warranty with some cards.

But yes, the big kicker is that you can walk right back in to BB and exchange if you need to plus not worry over possible shipping damage and not having a TV while it is replaced.

That is my thought as well. But I'm not sure I can fit 75 inch tv box in my van. In that case delivery expected by BB anyway.

I have BB rewards card but it's rewards are only good in BB.

It is absolutely a pick your poison on the limited rewards versus convenience. And if BB messes up from store to your house, you can get a replacement in a day.

I'm at $2350 on Greentoe and they are wanting $2499. I hope Buydig offers that price again.

I got an offer of $2349, so the price is falling.

Edit, got another offer at $2299. Should I pull the trigger on this one?

My only problem with ordering where you have to take a delivery is making sure the thing works. I would hate to ask a delivery guy to sit there and wait as I fumble for screws and move the mount from my old tv to my new tv etc.

Can anyone give some input on that? I still havent gotten one but now that the new 900 series tv was announced at CES the price of these are getting very nice. I want to go ahead and jump on one. Was hoping Best Buy would come down more so I could just go buy one, get it home and if I had an issue it isnt the biggest deal to put it back in the box and drive back up there.

Why is it even an issue if the delivery guy waits? Don't these online retailers have ample return policies in place to protect you for the first 30 days or so? Or am I missing something. I realize that the hassle would be greater than if the delivery guy was able to immediately take it back... but not by a whole lot.

I dont know. Never had one delivered. But I have seen more than one recommend getting the delivery person to wait. Maybe it is just slightly more hassle if they dont and there is an issue???

Hopefully some can give some more input.

I guess if it was damaged upon inspection one could refuse delivery which would be slightly better / easier to deal with than returning.

Anyway.. I, too, am considering one of these through Greentoe. I just can't decide which set I want the most, lol.

A reputable online retailer tells you to make the delivering agent wait until you can power up the unit to make sure it turns on with no stuck pixels, etc. You just need to remove the box and plug it in, use an extension cord it necessary. You can't do an in depth panel study looking for defects, but you can be sure it works. If purchased from an authorized retailer Sony will back the unit if it has defects.

Spoiler!

FWIW The retailer from GT sends instructions to cut the box open, plug the TV into the wall and power it up before you sign for delivery. You dont have to mount it and hook everything up, just confirm no dead pixels or obvious damage.

Yeah I'm pumped on this, and I really dont see prices dropping too much more, aside from fluke things. Seems like a great TV for the $$.

Which TV did you pick? The thread title is for a 75, but I see mention of the 65 as well.

Thanks,

+1. In fact it's generally recommended to thoroughly put the TV through the paces using the included TV stand before wallmounting it. But it's your prerogative of course.

I’m waiting as well.
Especially for Buydig.
They recently advertised a 65 inch 850f for $850 for a few hours again the other day.
That’s $400 less than the price being advertised on Slickdeals.
So I’m looking for a 75 inch 900f as well.

I returned a Vizio P75 as well, due to the OPs reasons.

I'm considering the 75" or the 85" if it drops to $3-$3.5k. interested to see the Vizio 75 Quantum X though.

I also had an offer from greentoe for $2299 and also chose to wait. Being that the 950 is coming out, surely these will drop in price. That said, I don't think you can really use pricing of the 850 to predict 900 prices as, IMO, the 900 and 850 are in different classes.

This seems like a lovely deal. I've waited this long, going to wait till 2019 models are released.

I wish that $1,500 premium on the 85" was more like $1,000
