Price dropped to 1849.99$ for Samsung Q80R 65"

The price of Samsung Q80R 65 inches dropped to 1849.99$ in Samsung website and major distributors like Amazon, Walmart and BestBuy.

However, no price drop for Q90R.

Unfortunately, the price is now back to its earlier amount of 1999.99$.

Does 65" Q80R worth extra $300 over Sony 900F? I never considered this unit it is out of my budget anyway. It's intriguing me at this price point.

I would say yes although I don't own a Q80. I am happy with my 900F as it has been a tremendous problem free device for the almost 18 months I've owned it, The Q is brighter with way lower input lag for gaming. It has a much nicer remote and is more stylish. They both do a great job upscaling and motion handling...according to rtings the Sammy even better. As a matter of fact the Q80 beat the 900F in every category. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/comp...&threshold=0.1

That said I would still recommend the Sony if you can get a good deal, just remember it's near 2 year old tech now and there are advancements all the time. 1000 or close for a 65" 900F would still be a great deal imho.

I was considering a 65" Q80 for gaming, but I may actually take a look at new Series 8 TCL. It's a great time for AV enthusiast, I can remember paying 3K for a 40" Panny tube TV in 1995...lol

I saw the rtings.com for comparision and Q80R is better set but marginally. There are couple of features where it's better....but X900F is no slouch either. I will keep an eye on this set for the price when i am ready to pull the trigger.

If it's $200-300 difference it's not bad to get Q80R.

That is a great discount! In the US, there is no TV discount for students, which means no discount for Employees too. I asked Several Samsung customer service, etc and they said there is no discount for TV. Only for wearable, tabs, phones, etc.

I bought mine 1647$ a month ago thanks to Walmart.com price matching!

I am sure Q80R is better. The standout features are very bright screen, anti-glare screen, wide viewing angles, and beautiful colors. That is why I paid 647$ more from my initial 1000$ budget.

The price I mentioned and pictured is from the US Employee Purchase Program

Not sure if it includes students, but it included many different companies. You can check if your employer participates here: https://shop.samsung.com/sg_epp/welcome

That said, the price seems to fluctuate a lot and today it is back up to 1745. I think you got an excellent price btw...congrats

Edit...after checking a few, it seems they currently offer the deepest discounts on the Q70. Like I said this can change quite often, I'm assuming it's dependent on stock and how well an item is selling.

Thank you!

Of course, I am just student and might work for Employees.

It seems like your URL is for Singapore. When I clicked on your link, It says for Singapore only as shown in the attachment.
