Sony 75X900F $1,598 and 65X900F $998 at walmart.com

Thanksgiving day (perhaps longer) sweet deal, Walmart.com (seller walmart.com) just lowered the Sony 75X900F to $1,598 and 65X900F to $998
Amazon and Bestbuy have not matched (yet).

As of 10:53am eastern. 75" is back up to $1,798 on walmart.com, but Amazon still at $1,598. 65" still at $998 on both.

Is $1798 probably the best price we will see before the end of the year from a major retailer? The guy at BB said it would be going back up to $2200 or so soon. I'm tired of waiting, but love good deals.

Sony 75X900F $1,598 at walmart.com

Do you guys feel that the Vizio PQX at 75” is a better value? I’m a Sony fanboy and haven’t felt the need to upgrade from my 940E, but the PQX at $1,599 seems like a better set than the 75 900F.

I know the upscaling is superior on the Sony, but I’m beginning to feel that that advantage is lost when feeding 1080P and up to the TV. Thereby making the Vizio the one to get.

Display uniformity, DSE and general QC continue to plague Vizio to a certain degree. If you get a good panel, the Vizio probably has slightly better core PQ, but the picture processing(motion/upscaling) will never be as good and the Vizio UI is damn weak IMO. But value wise esp when the 65" was $999 it's an awesome price point.

I feel that the brightness, contrast, and color coverage is worth the panel lottery. Meaning upscaling seems to me to be an advantage that is worth overlooking. The compressed crappy signal you get from Comcast, Direct TV (the best of all the evils) etc, should be avoided (cut cord). BD, 4KBD, and streaming is what we should be feeding our sets.

I wouldn’t pick a Q70 and 900F over the PQX, and both are more expensive.

Idk, I am beginning to lean toward 1080P and up as a baseline. The PQX ticks all those boxes.

All purchases should factor in an extended warranty, leveling the Playing field as far as QC.

Still love the 900F, all around good performer. Add to that the option of an 85” and it’s a clear winner.
