I should also add that, I too, am in a similar situation as yourself (I am still working with a 65" 1080p panel that I've had for several years), and if I were to upgrade today, it would 100% be the Sony 900F (75"/85").
[EDIT] I do have the 49" Sony X800E in my bedroom and it has been a great TV, and has a great picture quality.
Could the 800G work for you? Perhaps, but I really can't say that for sure. That really depends on "your" needs (wants
