Best current value for new TV

Hi, I am looking to buy a new TV in early February and I am trying to get the best value that I can get. I am all but sure that I can't afford to get the size of TV that I want in a OLED. I currently have an LG OLED but it feels too small. Any thoughts?

I am looking for a 75 inch because any bigger and I will need a new wall mount too. My budget is around $1,400

Imo, at that size and budget your best options are:

Sony 900F
TCL 6 Series
Vizio P Series

I’d recommend waiting until the summer as TCL and Vizio just announced the new models to their respective lines. Vizio announced to have improved their image processing (which is good because their color gradients need improvements), and TCL announced the 6 Series would get miniLED, which means you will probably be able to get a 75” with miniLED, which really helps with HDR and contrast. Worst case if they’re not good improvements you’ll more than likely get the current models cheaper by then.

Have owned the TCL 6 series 75inch for about a month now. I love it. Great value. I got it for $1199 right before Thanksgiving. Currently $1299. Last Samsung was a bad deal, so they were out. OLED out of budget. Mainly just for a movie or two on the weekends with a couple people. I think they got a bad rap early on in 2017-2018 with quality control issues. Seems like they have really upped their game recently. Being a Roku set, and with a Firestick, I couldn't be happier. Some good reviews over in the lcd flat panel threads. Good luck.

I'm not sure why this is being mentioned either. Sony is NEVER going to be considered a budget option, even if the TV is an older model. It's at least 1700 for a 75 inch.

Agreed! Although I feel the Sony at that price point has its virtues deeming it a good “value”, if true bang for buck at 75” LCD is what you’re after, then TCL is the only real player.

The TCL 6 series 75inch has dropped $100 to $1199.

Sure, but as people have mentioned, this is a bad time to buy a new TV. TCL is a few months away from delivering what could be a massive improvement in their 2020 line, and by then, he could get another $100 price drop.

Sure, but the thread is "current" value. Not months away.

There will ALWAYS be a newer, better feature to wait for. The question is if that feature is a "must have" or not
and how long are you wiling to wait for it. TCL 6 Series are a hard to beat value proposition and will most likely continue in that regard with each new model and model year going forward. I have the TCL 2018 6 series (55") and have no regrets.

The OP doesn't seem to need a TV right now and even said his purchase will be next month so it doesn't hurt to say that this year's budget models could be a significant upgrade that doesn't happen every year. Especially considering that the TCL and Vizio models mentioned aren't very exciting anymore.

Not so sure that will be the case with some effort. Quick search has them for $1700 right now and I think being a smart shopper could easily make that happen.
