Questions on purchasing a Samsung 82" RU8000 moving from a 55" Samsung Plasma
So I have found a good deal on a demo until for a Samsung 82" RU8000. At this point it will be going into a large room 25x15'. I plan to mount it on a wall between two windows and it has a lot of light in the day.
We currently have a Samsung 55" plasma which has great detail and awesome for movies (IMO).
I have been debating buying a JVC NX5 projector for downstairs and have been on the fence for a while and figured while I wait it would be nice to replace the TV with a large one (80"+).
Most of our content is done via Netflix/Prime or streamed from a media server.
I read Ratings and it sound like it doesnt have a great review on movies which somewhat puts me off. But I spent a lot of time reading peoples reivews online and they seem quite positive so I thought before going to buy it tomorrow I would post on AVS and see if people could chime in on real hands on experience with this TV.
It will be used in a room which is bright in the day but mainly used in the evenings. I think the 82" will look great in the location mounted on the wall. The sitting distance will be 12' away. I love to watch movies but it seems like we watch more and more TV series etc which is off Netflix.
I'm sure once I build out the projector room we will mainly watch movies there and this would be a more every day TV setup which is why I also dont want to break the bank on both setups.
Thanks for your help in advance.
PS: The TV is costing about $2200 CAD or $1600 USD.
