SOLD: Marantz NR1605

am selling a mint condition Marantz NR 1605, a 7.1 slimline AV receiver. Bought in November 2014, used until end of December 2014 and been sitting in its original box. Great receiver that I bought for my girlfriend's place, then she moved out. Pretty sure I won't be setting up two full surround systems in my place.

Hello I read that it is rated 50 watts per channel. Is this power loud enough? Doesnt it sound lacking and thin?

I don't think the sound is lacking at all. I bought it to replace an older Pioneer receiver that was rated at 100 WPC; the moment I got it online and it started streaming music as a network test success indicator, my girlfriend and I instantly thought it sounded better. Really enjoyed the few 5.1-recorded HD TV shows and a Blu-ray or two on it. I wouldn't push big or power hungry speakers with it, though. We were using a set of Polk bookshelf speakers and a CS10 center.

I also thought it was cool that you could set the internal amps to bi-amp a pair of front speakers if you weren't running the unit in a 7.1 configuration.

I almost got a 1404 (or 1403, can't remember). I really like the slim look of it and, apparently, it's a great receiver. Ironically, despite enjoying the slim look, I ended up with a much taller receiver and had to remove a shelf on my TV stand. Oops.

GLWS!

Yippee-ki-yay...
