Aw too bad those are not S1's. I could use a pair of those. You are nearby too. Pair of S2's would get me divorced.

For anyone considering these subs, they are awesome. I have a pair and they deliver every bit of bass I could ask for. I would buy them, but I value the integrity of my house structure, and 4 would wreak havok. BTW, I'm not even joking.

awesome subs! And i have only one and am thoroughly impressed by the sheer loud and articulate bass.

Out of curiousity, how close are your neighbors? Shared wall?

GLWS! Heard these at Gooddoc's and they sound great! And for anybody that may be second guessing these because of their size, they really aren't that big at all. I actually couldn't believe how small they were for dual 18s, I was expecting to see refrigerator sized boxes. If I didn't have dual Submersive HPs, I'd be blowing up your inbox!

Not a shared wall, but about 10-15 feet separate our houses on one side.

What kind of decoupling have you attempted?

none. i dont plan on staying in this house long term, so i didn't want to make a substantial investment into redoing walls and whatnot. the ceiling is drop ceiling (useless), so thats the main culprit of my sound leakage.

at the end of the day, these beasts just belong to someone who could actually turn them up. dont get me wrong, my theater is absolutely rockin when i have bass heavy movies on, but my entire house feels it lol

Man if your not there long term I'd hate to see them go! I mean after down sizing to cap 1400's after shipping you won't make to much would you? Have not looked at prices though I was thinking maybe some very exaggerated decoupling of the subs to the floor. It's usually the vibration transfer thats the neighbor culprit...

The S2 pair were my dream subs for almost a solid 2 yrs!

my rugs are carpet, so that definitely helps. would you recommend putting it on a subwoofer pad? I honestly thought these subs were so powerful nothing could stop the vibrations.

but my hope is that I find 2 used subs on here. Either 1400's, S1's, or something similar.

Ah yes used pair of 1400's or such would certainly suffice and knock price down a tad to make such a transfer tolerable.

Essentially yes nothing can stop the vibrations from brutal powerhouses like the Cap S2's. But some like a double rubber decoupling feet system would help more than carpet. From what I understand of reading about neighbor sub issues is the vibrational transfer from hard substance to hard substance.

Anyhow you shouldn't have trouble with your sell!

I've never heard the S2's but I have a pair of 1400's (and looking to add a 3rd). If you went with a pair of 1400's I don't think it will improve the relationship with your neighbor....the 1400's are beasts in their own right.

This is true, but at least if I sold my S2's and showed my girlfriend smaller subs in the 1400's, i would say "babe, at least i tried!"

Yes, i believe it has 3 years left. Jeff gives 5 year warranty's on the sub itself, and 3 years on the amplifier. This has been so sparingly used that there's no way you'd ever run into an issue lol
