FS: NAD T758 v3

For sale is my NAD T758 V3 in pristine condition.

It was bought new from Crutchfield in late 2018 and has the latest updates, including the AM230 audio card, which you can confirm from the attached images. I have not encountered any bugs with the AVR, and the Wi-Fi always worked great for me.

This is by far the most cost-effective way to get a full Dirac Live surround sound system.

Attached are images of the AVR and its accessories. I have all original documentation and packaging. I also have the NAD microphone (not pictured), however I found it to not work well, so I used my UMIK-1 to do Dirac measurements.

I have shot a short video to confirm it is working:

In addition, I'll include a couple of these neat stereo amps I used for the Atmos channels.

All of this is only seldomly used. $900 shipped within the U.S.

For the NAD T 758 V3, why did you need 4 additional channels of amplification? 5.1.4 would only need 2 additional channels, no? Were you bi-amping your front speakers?

Also, would you be willing to sell the 758 separate of the Fosi amps?

Thanks.

The T758 V3 can amplify 7 channels: FL, C, FR, SL, SR, and either surround backs OR one pair of heights. So you will need 4 channels of additional amplification to reach 11. The most common configuration is to tell the AVR to amp the surround backs and use a couple of stereo amps, or a 4-channel amp, to do the heights.

Yes. But if you don't have amps, you'll need to get some

Can the T758 v3 do Roon Ready? I've seen mixed comments in the Roon forums so just wondering if you had any experience with it.

Don't have anything Roon, so we'd be doing the same research I'm afraid.

No worries... I've been looking at the T758 v3 for awhile now. Since I use Roon a lot, I was just hoping to catch another owner who also uses Roon.

Thanks and good luck with the sale.

Looks like it is Roon certified. Found some people successfully using it with a quick search.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't realize the T758 V3 was capable of 7.1.4 Atmos. How flexible are the pre-out assignments via the menus?

Can you be more specific? Do you mean amp assignments?

For the 8 pre-out channels, I was wondering how they can be re-assigned via the menus. I see FRONT (L&R), CENTER, SUBW, SURR (L&R), and SURR-B/FRONT-HT/ZONE 2 (L&R). You mentioned running four height channels on the external amps. So can SURR be assigned to "BACK-HT" or something along those lines?

And are any of the speaker outs re-assignable? For instance, if I wanted to power all four height speakers from the receiver and power the Fronts with an external amp? Is that possible?

Thanks for all the info! I went through the manual but its kind of lacking on the information.

I think the labels on the back are confusing - if doing 7.1,4, the Height channel preouts are on the far left, on the board that runs vertically.

You can run the fronts on an external amp, but you can not reassign the front channel amps and use them for the heights. And, the AVR can not power all 4 height channels internally.

The amp reassign gives you the option to use the "back amp" for surround backs, height 1, height 2, or to bi-amp the fronts.

No problem, and I agree.
