Marantz AV7702 mkII - Atlanta

I just upgraded to another Marantz preamp, (wanted to try 13.2 with wides) so putting this unit up for sale. Comes with remote, mic, and all of the original accessories, and will ship in original box.

This is a great way to do Dolby Atmos, DTS X, wide speakers, 4k, ARC, etc. Up to 11.2 channels, XLR and/or RCA outs. ARC, wi-fi, etc. Not much that the newer units will do that this one will not.

Unit has always been in my fan-cooled rack and protected by power conditioning. I've used it to drive my 7.2.4 Atmos system, and have always been happy with it. Just wanted to hook up my front wides (from a few years ago) along with the 4 Atmos speakers.

Asking $900, shipped in the CONUS. As always, $25 discount for AVSForum paid members. Payment via Paypal, please, and I'll pay the fees. Local pickup in Atlanta area possible, too.

PM me with any questions or to make an offer. Pix on request.

I'm finding that I'm smarter than I thought, but dumber than I need to be.

Yes to both. An excerpt from the units' page on Marantz.com, here: https://www.us.marantz.com/en-US/support/manuals

The AV7702mkII supports a 5.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.2, and even a full 11 channel Dolby Atmos setup; taking advantage of 7.1.4* or 9.1.2* Dolby Atmos configurations. A 7.1.4 speaker configuration is based upon a traditional 7.1 speaker layout complemented by four overhead, or Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. A 9.1.2 configuration is based on a 9.1 speaker layout with two overhead speakers. This is connectivity, versatility and power to the extreme.

Technical Details
11.2ch platform
4K/60Hz full-rate up-scaling/ Pass Through and HDCP2.2

Build-in Wi-Fi and BlueTooth

Have a few questions. Sent you a PM. Ignore my last question, I missed those details in your original post.

Out of curiosity, I just posted post59716056 asking to see if I need to upgrade my AVR. I might be interested in your receiver if it will address my needs. Do you happen to know?

Rtart, (unfortunately I still can't PM - not even a reply)

Thank you for the warm welcome and excellent advice!

Feel free to respond via PM to limit the 'chit-chat' (I read the forum rules ha!)

I guess the general question I have is could I connect 9 speakers to my current Pioneer Elite VSX-LX103? I think the answer is 'No' but I wanted to confirm.

Separately, do I add an amp to each room?

I very much appreciate your time - thank you for reviewing my message and questions.

2xTowers
1xCenter
2xIn-Ceiling
4xIn-Wall (I could limit to 2xIn-Wall)
-----------
9 Total (dropping 2 in-wall would make it a total of 7)
