What a bargain for a such a great projector. They really outdid themselves with the feature sets on the 5040/6040 line. I'm stoked to see how they top one of the most affordable and beautiful imagery that the Premium 16 piece high end optics in the Made in Japan lens. That was a gift, manufacturing the lens in Japan. My projector has been in it's home in our Cinema since last Christmas, it's better now, than it was 11 months ago. The performance has improved as Epson and Oppo engineers field customer inquiries and set up firmware updates. It's almost like an upgraded projector compared to the hiccups we, earl adopters have grown to expect in the consumer electronics industry. What would they do without us? My Oppo 203 has had several firmware updates and incremental improvements that sum up to throw a powerful and vibrant image that's sure to please even the most cynical consumer.

I agree, the $2,399 was a steal for this unit.

Epson's price fluctuates in accordance with their promo calendar. The lowest any authorized dealer was able to sell this for was the $2,399. Once that promo expired, the price went back up to $2,699. It is now on sale again for $2,499 for a limited time before going back up to $2,699 again.

The Epson Home Cinema 4000 is now on "super sale" for only $1,799.99 down from $2,199.99

These sale prices will expire soon and the pricing will go back to "normal" for the remainder of the year.

Thanks!
