Ideally it would be better to have notifications generated only when there are new posted items, not simply replies to existing posts. However, that does not seem possible.

Most people already reply to classified ads by PM, but I'll add a reminder note in my post to that effect. New forum users cannot sent PMs so some “spurious notifications” are unavoidable.

FS: Ushio NSHA250JK Bulb for JVC PK-L2615U (RS400/RS500/RS600 etc)
I'm selling brand new Ushio NSHA250JK 265W bare bulbs. These can be installed in the JVC PL-L2615U/L2615UP lamp housing which is used in all recent JVC projectors (DLA-RS-400, RS-420, RS-440, RS-500, RS-520, RS-540, RS-600, RS-620, RS-640, X550, X750, X950 etc). The same bulb is also used in the new native 4K models, in a completely different different housing (PK-L2618U); see the last picture attached.

Note that this is the 265W version of the Ushio lamp; older JVC projectors use 220W or 230W versions.

The cost is $110 USD plus $15 tracked shipping to US or Canada. Item will be shipped from Canada.

The bulb can also be drop-shipped from the supplier, in which case the cost would be $110 USD including shipping, but will have to be pre-paid (3 weeks delivery time).

Installation instructions: It's relative easy to install the bulb into an existing housing. The only tools required are a Philips screwdriver and a pair of tweezers.

It's best to work with the lamp in the orientation shown in the picture once the 4 retaining screws are removed, as otherwise some parts may fall out.

To remove the old bulb:
- Remove screw 1 and the metal bracket that it holds. This is not strictly necessary but gives more ready access to the following steps.
- Remove the two screws 2 that hold the wires to the bulb terminals. Remember which wire goes where.
EDIT (Courtesy of forum member Dreamliner): There is a small spring that is held in place by the power connector, see the last attachment Power_Connector_Spring.jpg. If it falls out, please make sure you re-insert it before putting the power connector in place.
- Remove the four screws 3 (two shown in picture, two more at the back) that hold the brackets clamping the lamp to the housing. Lift up the four brackets, remembering the order. Lift up the bulb. There are more brackets underneath; do not remove those.

To install the new bulb, reverse these steps. Make sure when inserting the brackets, the little alignment pin poke through the hole. Also make sure all brackets are resting flush against the plastic housing, before tightening the screws. If necessary, reseat the lamp so that the brackets rest flush. Make sure the screws are snug but do not over-tighten them.
Hello Dominic, I would like to purchase a Ushio bulb for JVC RS440. Please contact me at "[email protected]"

Thanks

Dominic,

Do you have some type of user experience report yet? I have read so many experiences that show only four to five hundred hours of use for various projectors. Many, if not most, are about Philips and similar bulbs. What has been your experience with these Ushio bulbs?

Jack

So I could have a spare on the shelf, ready to go with one of your bulbs installed, I just wrote to JVC's parts distributor asking about buying the housing without a bulb. No go.

Does it make sense to shop for a cheapie replacement bulb+housing for the RS1000/N5/NX5 - RS2000/N7/NX7 - RS3000/N9/NX9 series, assuming the bulb will be worn out, just to have a housing for one of your new bulbs?

I assume that would cost substantially less than the $600 JVC wants for the whole assembly.

Totally expected.

I have not seen any cheap replacement bulb+housing (PK-L2618U) for the native 4K series.

Maybe that's because these units are relatively new. Are there such items available for the older e-Shift models?

If so, they may become available for the native 4K models as folks start replacing bulb assemblies and the old assemblies become recycled.

I certainly have time to wait, as my RS1000 is only a few months old, and has only 130 hours on it.

No reason not to buy a bare bulb and wait for a housing for it.

Worst comes to worst, I'd have to do surgery while my friends wait, rather than a quick swap.

Or bite the bullet and pay the $6oo for a new one from JVC so I can do a quick swap, and use the old housing for your bulb.

What's the expected number of hours on these bulbs?

Hi DC,

How many and for how long can you deliver these bulbs? Say, if i want to buy one in a couple of months, you still have them?

Greetings Reza.

FS: Ushio NSHA250JK Bulb for JVC PK-L2615U and PK-L2618U

I'm selling brand new Ushio NSHA250JK 265W bare bulbs. These can be installed in the JVC PL-L2615U/L2615UP lamp housing which is used in all recent JVC projectors (DLA-RS-400, RS-420, RS-440, RS-500, RS-520, RS-540, RS-600, RS-620, RS-640, X550, X750, X950 etc).

The same bulb is also used in the new native 4K models (DLA-RS2000, DLA-NX7 etc), in a completely different different housing. The bulb replacement procedure is essentially the same; see the last four pictures attached.

Note that this is the 265W version of the Ushio lamp; older JVC projectors use 220W or 230W versions.

The cost is $110 USD plus $15 tracked shipping to US or Canada. Item will be shipped from Canada.

Alternatively the bulb can also be drop-shipped from the supplier, in which case the cost would be $110 USD including shipping, but will have to be pre-paid (3 weeks delivery time). This is the option I recommended for those outside North America, as the shipping cost would otherwise be uneconomical.

- Remove the two screws 2 that hold the wires to the bulb terminals. Remember which wire goes where.
- Remove the four screws 3 (two shown in picture, two more at the back) that hold the brackets clamping the lamp to the housing. Lift up the four brackets, remembering the order. Lift up the bulb. There are more brackets underneath; do not remove those. Also note the small U-shaped spring in the upper right corner, which is intended to prevent the bulb from moving laterally.

Hi Dominic, i like to know if you still sell the Ushio NSHA250JK. Do you still have them in stock? How do we proceed? I cannot send private message.
Thanks

Is there any special precaution that needs to be taken when installing this new bulb in the original housing?

The first post outlines the procedure for installing the bulbs. Do not touch the UHP bulb (the “tube” in the middle of the reflector).

If you have further questions please contact me by PM, or if you can’t , by email (the one used for PayPal).

Installed the bulb purchased late 2019 yesterday. Old lamp at 3400 hrs. Have not yet measured the light output, but picture looks brighter and equally accurate. Thanks Dominic.

I know this supposed to be very easy, but could someone who does this take a video of the process and post to YouTube. Cell phone quality would be adequate. I seem to learn better by watching something being done than reading instructions. Thanks.
