I have a limited amount of space to mount my screen the housing for retractable screen can't be longer than 120". My question is I can either get a 16x9 screen that is about 112" or a 2.35:1 screen that is a little under the 112". I am mainly going to be using for movies with occasional football, gaming but 75% will be movies. Should I go with 16:9 since it will be roughly the same length as the 2.35 screen and deal with the black bars on the top and bottom or get the 2.35 screen and deal with the smaller screen size when watching 16:9 with bars on side. I know that scope movies are suppose to be larger than 16:9 and it would be opposite with this setup and I think this is what I am stuck on. I am either getting one of the new jvc projectors or sony 55es possibly 600 if it's worth it to my eyes. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Something that wasn't mentioned when I bought my setup was that if you're going with a gray screen like the Firehawk or Black Diamond, they act like masking systems when switching aspect ratios. Theyre not perfect, but exceedingly good to not need to mask. If you're getting one of these, figure out your max horizontal size, then get a 16:9 screen. The Gray material will mask your 2:35 and you still have a huge 16:9 image instead of having to scale the image down considerably. This way, your 2:35 image size is barely affected.

Fyi, I have the Sony 600es with a 2:35 screen, and when 16:9 content comes on and spills over its very consuming. Having to shrink that image down sucks! Also, I've noticed that most newermovies are actually 2:40 so I still have small bars at the top and bottom. I'm working with my dealer to get my Firehawk G4 replaced as its riddled with sparkles. This might just be an isolated problem with my screen though.. For $5k, I'm not happy with it.... For now..
