High gain screen samples; how to test for sparkles/hot spots

I have two samples of a fabric coming in today; one with high gain. What type of tests should I run to see if I see sparkles/hot spots in things. Maybe a white background video and put the fabric in various spots?

best to have a sample of something with no texture/gain artifacts like stewarts snomatte then its as simple as shining a flashlight on it, very easy to see the difference. In video content, especially high brightness flat color panning shots like in cartoons, the screen becomes visible.
