Elite Screens ezCinema question

I haven't found an answer to this online yet, so I thought I would post it here.
I'm looking at Elite Screens ezCinema manual pull up screens.

Does anyone know if the black material below the white screen is acoustically transparent so you could place a center speaker behind it?
Thanks for your help,
James

It is not acoustically transparent. You either need to have the center speaker placed just below or just above the screen's image area. I tried both and in my environment above the screen produced the best overall sound for my preferences. In my manual floor rising screen research a couple of years ago I didn't see a single model available with acoustically transparent black material below the screen's image area.
