Question Projector Screen Mounts

Does a projector screen mount exist that could convert a standard VESA TV mount to a projector screen mount?

I would imagine something like an 8 to 10 foot long bar that could connect to the VESA mount in the middle of the bar, and then at both ends of the bar there would be holes on each end where you place the screen hooks or nuts/bolts, etc.

Not that I am aware of. I too have thought of the same idea for a mounting solution, but in my search I was unable to find anything. I'm sure something could be made from unistrut channel or similar.

It seems like it should be a common part or something.

I've had no luck either. I'll probably have to make something I guess. It really just needs to be like a 9 foot bar with holes spaced to the VESA standard.

Looking at unistrut, that does look like it would work. I found one that's 5 feet. I would imagine there will be something around 9 feet as well. Cool. Thx for the tip. I wonder if anyone else has ever tried it. Looks promising. A lot of the motorized projector screens are under 30 pounds and my VESA mount is rated for 100+ pounds.

There’s also the slim variant of the strut channel:

You can cut to length and piece it together with strut brackets:

Use strut channel nuts behind the brackets to secure them to the strut:

Then use end caps to cover the rough edges:

I think it could work, and the end result will be more than light enough for the mount.

If you had a tv mount like this, I would think two pieces of vertical strut attached to the mounting brackets, and then two horizontal pieces cut to the desired length (and secured with T-brackets) for mounting the screen would work pretty easily and cheaply.
