How do you sell and ship a screen?

I'm about to update to a larger Stewart screen with the new material. So I'll be selling the current Stewart screen somehow, someway.

Those of you who have done such a thing.....how did you do this?

I'm reluctant to take apart the screen because I don't know how I'd keep from damaging the screen material in the process. I'd much prefer somebody local to buy and take it home as is in a well protected truck bed or something. The thing is in virtually perfect shape, and I'd want the buyer to get the same. But if I had to ship it, I'm afraid I would not arrive in the same condition.

Advice is appreciated.

Speakers: RBH SV-661R and SV-661CR fronts, Jamo 626k4 side/rear surrounds, DefTech DI6.5R heights

Pretty sure local sale is the only way to go.
I’ve been looking for a larger screen and the last time I priced out shipping it was $300.
Doubt you’ll hurt it by breaking it down, but it may be easier to sell w/ it up. Good luck!

6 years ago I bought two new Stewart electric screens. I then needed to sell the two existing electric screens. I just waited for the Stewarts to arrive, and packed up the old screens in the new shipping cartons. I wound up selling them on Ebay ( one ) and the AVS forum ( the other one ). I did have to find a freight company to ship them. Somehow it worked out fine !

What was the cost to ship them?

About $ 350.00 each if I recall. But shipping my old Sim2 Lumis Host to the buyer was even more - like around $ 500.00 with insurance valued at $5k.

Do buyers actually agree to eat that cost?

I'd contacted trucking companies for the screen shipping price ahead of time. You can factor it into the price, or add shipping, or split shipping. All part of the sales negotiation. A new screen isn't cheap to ship either.
