Looking to upgrade my JVC RS2 projector. Have 2 possibilities at around the same cost.
New RS50
New RS46

On paper the RS50 is better (Contrast) but they had lamp problems I am reading and is few generations older.

I have radiance mini so the added CMS on RS50 not that important.
Dont care about 3D

Fully light controlled room, Jamestown 1.1 screen, 126" 16:9

The RS2 still throws a really nice pic but have the upgrade bug.
I assume the 50 or 46 would be a considerable upgrade from the RS2?

What would you guys get?

Though the RS-50 has a bit better contrast, you would have to open the IRIS up much sooner on the RS-50 because it is DIMMER than the RS-46.

I'd go with the RS-46 over the RS-50, otherwise check out the RS-55 if that's an option (sounds like its not), or maybe the RS4810. I think most would consider any of these a big upgrade over the RS-2, although a rare few might say otherwise, but yes it is a pretty big upgrade.
