I currently own a Benq w7000 and over the next 6-12 months will be considering upgrading for a new home/ hometheater build. Any suggestions? Something on the horizon I should wait for?

4K. Yay.

Anybody that knows what will be announced in the next 6 to 12 months is under a non disclosure agreement, so they are not talking. Means we will have to wait until this fall to see what new projectors will be announced.

Wait until the news for new projectors comes out from the CEDIA Expo in late Sept.. You may be able to purchase a 4K projector at near your price range by early 2014. It may be worth the wait.

This is a rough one. CEDIA is 5 months away and all that is going to be is announcements for projectors that probably won't ship until Nov/Dec at the earliest, which is another 3 months after that. If you can hold out it may be worth the wait but we're talking almost a 8-10 month wait.

Product is being developed and it is still to early for even insiders with NDAs to know exactly what will be ready for Cedia.
