The above manual also tells the same thing.

Thanks for that. This doesn't bother me too much, my main reason for getting this PJ is it has the highest native contrast I could afford. The fact that it can E-Shift close to 4K is a bonus. But I can see how it might bother others who want the true 4K experience.

Listening with Focal Elex headphones, Topping DSD Dac, SENCUN-audio tube preamp with tone control and Modded Little Dot hybrid tube amp with Voshkod 6ZH1P-EV tubes, Dual Discrete Op-Amp SS3602, and Alps Blue Velvet volume pot.

Watching in a room ensconced in velvet.

Agreed... If it can produce a 4K like image on screen with no negative artifacts, more power to all of us who bought one... smile.gif

It is also a secondary issue for me... But I would be thrilled to see if it actually works well enough to gain significant resolution improvements!

I will test with my super high performance PC if necessary.

I have 2 HD7970s in crossfire, I use them to run a 4K 39in Seiki at [email protected] Really excited to use them on the JVC.

I have some remastered 4k blu-rays and various 4k vidoes I found on the web. I am interested in seeing myPCs desktop at some custom resolutions with JVC.

Just remember that they were mastered in 4K. The blu-rays you're talking about are still 1080p.

My only expectation is a bit of an improvement over 1080p. I mean I am coming from a Benq W7000, so blacks are what I am really after.

I'll be an RS57 owner by Saturday hopefully. Where's the love for the X700 SOWK? You made this nice thread for the X500.

I wont be owning a X700. So I want to focus on the X500 / RS49 / RS4910.

If you want to start one, I can send you my pretty "coding" so you can make an owners thread for the X700 if that's what you are getting.

I thought I would have it by now.  Called up the store and it's the usual story "It's a very busy time of the year for the post service... you should be getting it today or latest tomorrow... yada yada yada...".

I'm beginning to think Santa has forgotten about me this year but maybe the happy ending is just around the corner.

Just to clarify... the RS-4910 comes with an extended warranty and is ISF certified.

The new models are slated for late Dec, which is basically upon us. but we all know how these things work. Excepted due date... late December. Actually arrival date.... early January.

What exactly is different on the 4910 that gives it this "ISF certification" that the X500R and RS49U don't have?

They check each unit to make sure nothing is out of spec. Kinda makes it seam like you got an open box unit, but that is not what it is about. They make sure no significant issues pop out.

I've been eyeballing this feature too. My X90 has the ability to be autocalibrated as well and I was thinking of buying the appropriate meter so I can get it calibrated.

The chart says 10 lens memories for the 49 and 4910. I think that's a mistake.
