I recently bought a used Sony vw95es projector from someone, and one thing I've noticed is that turning on the auto iris in either setting is virtually unnoticeable. My room is completely blacked out, so I should be able to notice it, but so far the black levels don't seem any better than on my Epson 5020.

Since I doubt there's a problem with the projector's video processor, I'm wondering if perhaps some settings were changed in the service menu. Can someone let me know the default/optimal settings for the auto iris, and how to access the service menu?

EDIT: Actually I just tested it more rigorously, and it seems to be working. But if anyone has the default values for "iris open reg" and "iris close reg" for the vw95es, I'd really appreciate it!

Pm sent.
