D Vision Scope 1080p

Searched the forum and couldn't find much info on this projector.

The specs seem great
2.35 DLP chip
2000 Lumens

ATLANTA, GA – September 2011 - Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announces the dVision Scope 1080p, a native 2:35:1 precision DLP® projector delivering over 2.75 million pixels of imagery when scope HD content is displayed. The 2560 x 1080 dVision Scope delivers a true 1080p solution for 2:35 aspect content without optical stretching, and without the need for an anamorphic lens solution. Through a capable combination of superior horizontal resolution and intuitive input analyzing firmware, the dVision Scope 1080p delivers the CE channel’s only anamorphic lens-free, full resolution, constant height projector available today.

Has anyone viewed this projector?

It's truly a 2.37:1 DMD (or at least those are the mirrors they reflect light off of) and I believe they just announced an LED based unit at CEDIA. Projection Design has a unit too. Here's a little more information about the projector in question from a few years back:

DPI talked about this at Cedia. The D Vision projector platform is built like a tank, with interchangeable lenses ( like an SLR lens on steroids ).

These are excellent units with realistic specs. Both lens quality and build quality are outstanding. I have a version of this unit calibrated very close to the P3 color space.

I want to say they are mid t high 20s, but it's been a while since I've priced one. To echo others, the DPI are fantastic in general.

The D Vision projectors are/was built by Projectiondesign.
Barco now owns a controlling interest in Projectiondesign.

I don't think DPI sell these projectors anymore.

This thread discuss the Projectiondesign/Barco version: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/24-dig...80-pixels.html

The original Projectiondesign units were close to 40k suggested pricing. This Barco unit is quite a bit more compact and with the nature of the current marketplace I would imagine it is in the low 20's. This company does have a reputation for excellent units though. They oem'd for DPI, and Christie before the Barco purchase.

That is the one Craig. (At least the iVision 50 - Scope 1080p has the same chassis as the Barco F50 Unit)
