  1. Follow directions here: http://www3.jvckenwood.com/english/d...00_uhd-dl.html
  2. Before starting page 3, be sure to pull the power plug and disconnect all cables
  3. Connect the serial cable to the projector and computer (wait for any driver software to install on your computer)
  4. Plug the projector AC cord back in
  5. Run the software as stated at the bottom of page 3
  6. Pretty much follow pages 4 and 5 exactly.

Oh and does this wipe all settings and custom profiles I've made to the JVC?
That's the USB to serial adapter that JVC recommends people use. I can't confirm that the cable will work, but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't. Follow the instructions that come with the firmware and you should be golden. I don't believe it resets settings, so you should be good.

My question is, is it worth it to upgrade to the 550 to get the hdr and better 3d, is it that much of an improvement or should I just get the 500r professionally calibrated to make up the differences ?

Thanks.

Thank you. I pulled the trigger on the cables and will report back on my success. Already imported the new BT.2020 profile so I'm not as nervous now.

Thanks!

For playing HDR 4K clips as posted here:
https://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lc...ted-often.html

Is the only way to do this is utilizing the USB port of the new Samsung UHD player?

Thanks!

Mike ,

Is this HDMI cable all I need to go between my bluray player to a RS 400?

Ultimate High Speed
4K UltraHD TV needs speed to deliver an enormous amount of video data to your screen, fast. Black Platinum is the fastest cable out there, rated at 27Gbps—enough bandwidth for present and future formats. In fact, it carries our “Ultimate High Speed” label, meaning it’s our fastest HDMI cable. This is how UltraHD is meant to be seen.
Fluid Motion, Vivid Colors
Black Platinum HDMI cable is capable of delivering a frame rate of up to 60/120HZ, along with 8-16 Bit Color. This translates to fluid, filmlike images and vivid, saturated, and gorgeous onscreen images. Cables with less bandwidth might deliver 4K UltraHD video, but will probably do so with 4K, 30/60Hz, 8-14 Bit Color--meaning you don’t get 100% of the UltraHD performance you paid for.
Loaded with Precision Monster Technology
Black Platinum gets the royal treatment with Monster’s very best technology. 24K gold contacts offer better signal transfer. Patented Monster V-Grip technology ensures cables don’t accidentally loosen. Aluminized Mylar and copper braid shielding prevent interference. Black Platinum HDMI has all of this flagship Monster technology, and more.

Please excuse my ignorance in this matter. Im wondering if it is better for me to buy this cable instead of the ETHEREAL HDM-GA1? Or would I still need this?

I will test out the front port this evening.
I hooked up the A-35 to the front port and it worked perfectly. So, I wonder if it is the Denon or somehow it doesn't handshake with the JVC's 2.0 HDMI?

I still have to wait until June though. If a needed update comes out after I get mine though I'll probably just break down and buy an inexpensive laptop to use for updates.

And.... what's wrong with CMD being turned on?

Seriously though, I am not a fan of such video processing, but even on film-based material a little CMD goes a long way...

Well it would be nice to be able to rely on what you the pj is showing. I do use it on low for some sports, but not much else. I dont like the soap opera affect it has on film.

Sorry if this has been discussed. I'm on my phone and can't search just the thread.

I have the Samsung 6500 hooked through x7200wa to the rs400. 1080p works perfectly and looks great. But any 4K disc just shows black screen

Thanks in advance

I would be more then happy to hook the projector up via LAN and let it update that way without the need for a computer.
