In another thread you asked me about how the HK2299 compared with the JVC NX7 and I believe it more appropriate to respond here. In my opinion, the NX7 outperforms the 2299 in many areas; these areas include wide color, black levels, overall contrast, overall resolution, and the absence of rainbow effect. The difference in black levels and contrast is significant. The JVC also has power controls for its lens and offers 3D if you're intent on that.

On the other hand, the HK2299 has a pleasing uniform look and excellent line precision due to being a single chip display. It's also much less expensive to purchase than is the NX7.

Thanks for your observations. NX7 is in a different league and is also 5 times more expensive.
Putting aside HK2299's FW issues and clunky user interface, the picture quality is one of the best I have seen in the $1000-1500.
