Does anyone know of a 35 foot or longer HDMI cable that works with this projector? I have tried Insignia, Monoprice Cabernet, whatever 18 gbps in wall cable Walmart had (forgot the name), KabelDirekt, and Monster MC 1000 HD. In some cases, having them plugged in completely shuts the projector down. The screen is totally black and switching back to my 25 foot cable doesn't do anything.

Also, my projector has stopped automatically switching between HDR and Cinema picture mode when I am switching between HDR and non HDR content. It's annoying. Why would it stop doing this?

I'm considering purchasing a X590R (RS440), but I'm concerned with the extremely high cost of replacement bulb assemblies. It looks like it is relatively trivial to instead buy a genuine bare bulb and install it in the existing bulb sled for replacement and save several hundred dollars. Is that correct? What is the part number of the bulb?

I can't say for sure that hdmi is your issue but id start there and try one these and see if fixes it. Here are a list of ones i tried that worked in my situation with my Jvc rs440 and 4k player and denon 4400 and onkyo 787 receiver.

https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=21567
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0759CXK4H...077D37MT3?th=1
https://www.amazon.com/RUIPRO-Fiber-...ic%2Bhdmi&th=1
https://www.amazon.com/d/HDMI-Cables...ic%2Bhdmi&th=1

i have tried all of these and had no issues. im currently using the 12m(39ft)ruipro one ,which along with the monoprice slimrun one i listed are the 2 cables on arrow av list for hdmi cables that passed 4khdr over 50ft no problems when they tested a bunch of hdmi cables. the test link is in arrow av signature. im not sure if hdmi cable is your issue but worth a shot.
ive also noticed the qc with hdmi isnt the greatest ive boughten a few that wouldnt do 4k hdr 60 at 35ft and returned exchanged them and got a new identical one sent and have it work perfectly no problems. But like i said i like the ruipro one and it supports arc i dont think the monoprice one does.

I ordered the Ruipro to try out, thanks. I have even tried bypassing my receiver to make sure that it wasn't the issue, hooking it straight up to my PS4 Pro or Xbox One X, and it was the same issue.

Yes, and where ever you buy it from, if it has that exact part number it is an OEM bulb from Oshio. Took me about 30 minutes to swap out my bulb.

One more question on the RS440. For the past 6 years I've had an epson 8100 and I used this mount. Any reason I couldn't keep using this one? at least in the near term? I know that it's a fraction of the quality of a chief mount, but other than this one being not as sturdy if it gets bumped or when adjusting it, any concerns? It's still well under the weight limit of the mount, so there shouldn't be any issues with it falling down...

Are the adjustable arms long enough to each the JVC’s mounting holes?

Probably not, even on the epson I added my own extensions with some aluminum from Lowes. I suppose it is a hack, but it's plenty sturdy, probably more sturdy than the metal the mount is made from.

For “extension” I would use a plate rather than the arms.

Yeah, I could probably use a small aluminum plate and make my own adaptor to the mount I have. That'd probably be a bit more rigid.

I would be very careful extending the arms. This will effect the weight limit as you are now putting more leverage onto each arm. Call @Mike Garrett at AV Science and get the Chief mount. Its worth it. You just spent good money on a JVC projector. I wouldn't take chances with a rigged cheap-o mount.

+1 to what @brian6751 said. You spend the $ on a god projector, why not get a solid mount that is easy to adjust for the projector. Calling @Mike Garrett is the right choice.

You are much better off not cleaning your lens. There are very delicate lens coatings that can easily be damaged or removed. If there is a little dust on the lens, don't worry as it won't affect the image.

Jvc rs440(x5900) custom curves or Panasonic ub820 or... something else?

Hi everyone.

Ive ordered my self a Jvc rs440.
And I'm far from custom curves, and i've never watched anything from blu rays.

I only stream 4k HDR movies from my apple tv and play ps4 pro.
My room is not dedicated... but I can control my lights.

So the question is:

1. Will the custom curves work with Apple TV and ps4? and should I use them?
Can I just install one custom curve, for all HDR content? including ps4?
or two maybe?

2. Or I should just go with something like Panasonic ub820?
It should improve the image automatically?
I know, that I will most likely not going to watch any blu rays though.

3. Or maybe I should go with something else?

Any harm in using a little compressed air from a can?

It’s safer to use a manual photographic bulb type blower. There’s a risk that propellant from the can may contact the lens.

JVC DLA-X590R - Flickering

Hi,

Not sure I have the right term here, but yesterday I was streaming some UHD content from amazon and there was some "flickering" happening in background scenes when it's darker. It's like the darker portion goes from very dark to lighter color creating a movement in the darker portion. It's very disturbing to me when I watch a movie.

I tried to off all image enhancement, but that didn't seem to correct the situation.

I use a Panasonic ub820 to stream the content.

Any suggestion on what this can be and how to resolve?

JVC X590R - Panasonic UB820 - Elunevision 125" Studio 4K audioweave - Denon AVR 6600h - Axiom speakers with RSL C34e in ceiling for 7.1.4 Atmos setup.

Or maybe Oppo 203?

As I said im far from custom curved, and nits that Blu-ray specifies... like 1000 nits or 4000 nits.
Does all of this work on Apple TV?

Is anyone using this projector for only Apple TV 4k?
and enhances the image somehow?

I remember a couple of years ago there was someone selling an RS57 in the classifieds section. He stated how he physically cleaned the lens every three months since buying the projector new (2013 or 14?) as if that was a selling point. Major facepalm moment.
