Is there any plans for a meet up? I know Scott and Mark planned some meet ups at Epson, Samsung, and Dolby. Since JVC is introducing some new pjs, maybe we could get them to do something.

I'll be there for the first time this year. Been going to Infocomm and CES for years; not sure what to expect at CEDIA. That being said, if we cross paths I'll be glad to buy you AVS members a drink!

First time attendee. I signed up for a few sessions https://cedia.a2zinc.net/CEDIA2018/P...?view=sessions I wasn't sure what I could go to with the "show floor only" pass, but it looks like vendor sessions are included. I tried to leave open a lot of time to explore since it is my first time. Apparently there are some nice demos at CEDIA. I saw another CEDIA 2018 thread on AVS forum that talked about the Wisdom Audio demo room. http://www.ravepubs.com/wisdom-audio...er-cedia-2018/

The demo rooms geared toward audio often have projector models that aren't on display in the manufactures booth. In that regard it is a little of a scavenger hunt and if people post projector sightings in this thread it will help us navigate the maize. You can also ask at the manufactures booth if there are any of their projectors scattered about, they usually know.

FYI, I just reserved a room at the Holiday Inn Express Old Town. Not only was the price good, but they offer free shuttle service both to and back from the CC.

Having been to both multiple times, if you are interested in home theater audio and front projection, Cedia is THE place to go. CES is more of a pain in the a$$ - it's spread out over Vegas. And has stuff I'm not interested in ( like drones ). Cedia is all in one place for the most part ( a convention center ) - much easier to see everything you want, and go back for a 2nd impression !

I've updated Post #1 of this thread to add info about the AVS Forum meetup that Scott Wilkinson has arranged for late Thurs. afternoon at the Epson booth. I've also added info on the Friday AVS Forum meetup at the Sound United booth.

It's certainly possible that Sony, JVC and/or Epson has held back some announcements or demos from IFA so they can have something additional to announce/demo at CEDIA. Sometimes they will have a private showing to some members at the press at IFA under NDA until CEDIA starts. In any case the USA prices and shipping dates will be news for CEDIA.

I didn't see where Wolf Cinema is showing this year at CEDIA...at least not in a booth of their own. Does anyone know if they may be showing in someone else's booth?

IIRC Seymour had a Wolf last year. You could stop by his booth and check.

We need to get a thread going for CEDIA EXPO 2019 in Denver, Colorado.

I will be attending either with my wife or possibly my mother as she just beat breast cancer and wanted to get out of the house and do lots of walking.

I'm planning on going too. It's in Denver, so it will be easier for me to attend.

Now that CEDIA 2019 registration is open... shouldn't there be a new thread created??

It's never too early to think about CEDIA. Plus the fact, as I mentioned, registration has officially begun.
