Trying to remember...

I think I had to sign for them.

I do know it took forever to get here. A good 4-6 weeks. However, the order was processed within a few days. It's just the courier service. Got it via DHL.

The specific models with the 90 degree polarization aren't available from Amazon or any other US sources that i've seen. Only from their site direct

https://www.hi-shock.de/en/rf-pro-hi...-900-polarized

It really depends if the screen retains polarization. My 2.8HP retains none but doesn't need it, it's nice & bright in 3D. If needed though, these are great deal vs. the expensive JVC specific models that were made by Xpand.

3D fans check out Incredibles 2 3D BD, you can import from Amazon UK for a great price & region free. The 3D is excellent in this title.

you should be good to go. I have a pair of the JVC specific glasses, they look no different on my screen vs. the Xpand RF105's or multiple sets of other standard RF 3D glasses.

negative, no polarization retention on the ST100 so you are fine with any pair of RF 3D glasses. Xpand 105RF's are under $30 these days.

Are these the Xpand X105-RF-X3? Are they the equivalent of the pro diamond ones listed above? I think my screen is a Da-Lite 1.3 gain screen.

Hi, those are the X1's none 90 degree JVC specific models. they work perfect on screens that don't retain polarization. The X3's were only available direct from Xpand but heard that source is no longer available. Those high shock imports would be the most cost effective if needed.

Is that Da-Lite the 1.3 Cinema Vision? if so it would have a high level of polarization retention

I've had no issues with my Neve which is rated at 1.1 gain.

So, what's the consensus...do you guys think we'll hear any news on delivery times for the NX9 and the other new models this Monday/Tuesday....this month at least?

I was deciding between those two as well. V6 had less texture (you will have a very hard time telling the difference between the v6 and a non-AT screen from more than 18 inches; I could still see the weave of the UF from 6+ feet), slightly higher measured gain, and was cheaper when purchased from Mike at AVS

+1.

I compared with the Seymour UF, SSE Enlightnor NEO and (what I think is the previous version of) Svertson SAT 4K. The SSE NEO is like a super scaled down version of UF, and I had to be right up to the material to see the structure. However, it is sheer in comparison to v6 (it really does look like a solid screen) and requires the black backing (that I believe it does come with). I found the NEO and v6 sharper (intra-pixel gap was more delineated for example) and had more perceived contrast, but the v6 with frame was less than 50% of the price of the NEO.

Great. How is the acoustic attenuation and how was mounting it? It seems like the groove-based installation could be tricky and result in uneven tension.

Interesting. My current screen is a Seymour XD, and now that I've preordered the NX7, I've started thinking XD might not cut it for 4k. I made some inquiries this morning about getting samples of Seymour UF, Enlightor 4k, and the V6. Sounds like two of those may have been a waste of time.

The Enlightor and V6 are both excellent screens and what I consider the ultimate no compromise AT. You should be happy with either one.

Just my two cents. The Seymour XD is rated to 4K on their site and I used it with a Sony 4K projector and I thought it looked great and showed the 4k detail just fine. Doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy looking for a new toy

Understood. The thing is, my screen is small (92" diag) and my viewing position is VERY close (55" from my eyeballs to the screen; what can I say, I like "immersive"), so I can see the XD weave now if I look for it, but it's not distracting with 1080p. With 4k, at that size and distance, I suspect it XD will significantly detract from picture quality.

At that distance you are going to want the v6. You will be amazed at the price Mike is offering right now (for your sized screen, less than $1000 for material and frame!)

I'm 99% sure you're right, but I'd like to see it before I pull the trigger, so I asked about a sample. I'll likely retrofit to my existing frame anyway, so yeah, as cheap as it is, it's almost a done deal.

Me too...

Question... I am in a rented townhouse and will move in the next 1-2 years. How does one move a fixed frame screen? Take it apart and put it back again?
