Thanks Javs. Though I hope that will change, doubtful, though I can hope. At over $20k even if it had a laser is to much for me.

Looks like JVC Australia is looking to clear existing stock before releasing pricing apparently.

Ugh. After checking the dimensions of the JVC RS2000 (N7) and looking at my current setup, I will have to figure out how to mount it. It's much bigger than my Panny. Over 3 inches taller, and 5 inches deeper, slightly wider and nearly 30 lbs heavier.

I don't want to have to come down with it or bring it forward, but the soffit would prevent me from going up or staying at the same distance from the screen.

I suppose I could build some kind of shelving behind the seats, but I think that would require altering my fabric panels (I don't trust the strength of the soffit there).

The Hodor Theater - Now with Atmos
Projector - JVC D-ILA NX7/Panasonic PT-AE8000U; Receiver - Yamaha Adventage A3050
LCR speakers - JTR Noesis 228 HT (3); Surr./Back - Klipsch Pro Cinema KPT-8000M (4)
Atmos In-ceiling - Niles DS8HD (4); Subs - Passive JTR Captivator Pro (2)

Because the people that work for JVC here are not enthusiastic about their own product.

If they honestly were, the website would have models on it NEWER than the X5000/X7000/9000!

Not only that, their website have been owned a few times and infected with malicious scripts. I do not know one single consumer manufacturer who would not rush to put their latest marketing on the front page (except JVC AU).

Have they lost the password to the site and no one can recover it?

Anecdotally the QC of the lenses on the RS620 and RS520 is better than the RS640 and RS540.

Very interesting, this may be my new projector. The RS3000 being 10 grand more than the 2000 (more than double!) makes me wonder if it's worth it. Native 4K would make me happy, but I do like the additional lumen output.

For those still at Cedia on Saturday perhaps you can ask JVC if the RS540 will also get the "new" lens used by the NX5/NX7? If I understand correctly from previous comments the improvements are in QC and tighter tolerances so presumably the "new" lens would have an identical form factor to the "old" and so could be fitted assuming no significant cost delta? It might explain why US stocks of all current JVC models are/were being depleted as was stated earlier in the thread by Mike IIRC? Or was a comment from one of the Oz contributors correct that a new and respected lens manufacturer is now being used in the NX5/NX7 so that it is actually a new lens?

That 100mm lens is why the RS3000 costs so much. It's the same one on the 35k RS4500. And the RS3000 is 18k MSRP, which is a great deal when compared to the 35K RS4500. The RS3000 also has 100,000:1 native contrast ratio, which is much better than the RS4500. The only thing the RS4500 does better is lumen output (3,000) and has a laser light source.

If people have the $$$, the RS3000 will be a dream. The lens will make the images sharper than anything you've seen before. The whole combination of the RS3000 is just mouth-watering.

I'm sure down the road (2019, 2020) JVC will get the lumens to 2,500 or more and the contrast ratio to 160,000:1 or more on the RS3000's successor. And for a better price. And I hope laser will come too.

I'll buy that....

May the success of a Nation be judged not by its collective wealth nor by its power, but by the contentment of its people.
