I would think that is fairly unlikely to happen. Do you have an option to move the projector back a little? You mentioned moving from a different projector, and they do differ in terms of throw distance required to fill a given screen-size.

Unfortunately, I can't move the projector back a little in my situation. It's the first thing I had tried On a related note, do the Anamorphic modes A, B, C work with 3D? Just curious.

I hate to be the bearer of more disappointing news, but Anamorphic C actually doesn't work perfectly with scope 3D content. I just added a DCR lens to my NX7, and it won't allow me to fill my screen side to side - there is a 6% horizontal squeeze. I would guess that Anamorphic D will work properly for 16:9 3D content, but I haven't confirmed that yet.

The fact that JVC didn't 'fix' Anamorphic C for 3D with the DCR lens is reportedly due to lack of horsepower in its electronics to handle it. That was actually why I indicated it to be unlikely that they would add Zoom compatibility for 3D.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to live with this issue then. Disappointing news indeed!

I did provide these codes a few pages back

Here is the code to select the Frame Adapt HDR picture mode:

I attach the reference document with all the new codes again (courtesy of @Mike Garrett ).

Did you figure out what was causing the issue? I am having the same issue with my X790 with 300 hrs on the projector. I am pretty sure this is a new issue and don’t recall seeing this in the past.

I emailed my dealer and JVC and will wait to hear back from them.
@Franin coxy replying to squidjammer as per above believe has x790 not n series. Plenty took issue with iris on previous gen though I was pretty happy. Not sure what issue Coxy is having

Thanks so much Manni01

Strangely, when I make a new button in irule and add this device code it doesn't work. I tried all these combos:

Didn't work:
0000 006D 0001 0011 0141 00A0 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 02BD

Tried this and also didn't work:
0000 006D 0001 0011 0141 00A0 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0ED8

(The reason I put a 0ED8 is because some of my other pronto hex codes that do work on the JVC projector ended with that instead of 02BD

Finally I tried putting the 236 in front of everything and that didn't work either.

Does anyone who actually has a working pronto hex code for Irule and the JVC NX7 etc...give me what they put on their button? Or is there something wrong I'm doing?

My wife and I visited an AV dealer the other night for the purpose of comparing Sony to JVC. This dealer had a 295ES and NX9 setup for viewing. Prior to the following experience, I was sure from my research I'd be purchasing an NX7....

While watching a recorded TNF Football game (DirecTV 4k), the fast motion viewed on the NX9 was awful, choppy/jittery. When the same programming was viewed on the 295ES, the fast motion was smooth and realistic. I was shocked that an $18,000 MSRP JVC would have such poor quality as it relates to sports or other fast motion programming, where the $5,000 Sony was immensely better. When I inquired directly to the salesperson he replied, "the Sony's have always had better video processing than the JVC's. Now, the mid range 695ES is my best seller and that is what I would highly recommend for you. That being said, I believe the AVR and HDMI cables hooked up to the NX9 are a bit dated and the DirecTV signal is split many times in our store. You may have a different experience with JVC at home."

I believe I have very sharp/sensitive eyes, but even my wife has admittedly bad vision commented that if we bought the JVC and Football or other sports looked like it did in the store, she would return it immediately. I also noted that the salesperson was trying to push the 695ES for much of the visit.

A few questions to consider:
1. For those of you who watch sports on their JVC, what is your experience? Did I just get unlucky in mine?
2. Is the video processing that much better on the Sony's that fast motion is perfectly processed whereas, in my opinion, unwatchable on the JVC's?
3. Were there settings on this particular NX9 that may have been inappropriate for viewing of sports content?
4. Is it possible the dated AVR and lesser quality HDMI cables would be a contributing factor?
5. For 70% movie viewing and 30% TV/Sports either streamed on 300/300 internet or viewed locally via OTA antenna, should I be purchasing a 695ES over the NX7?

If my specific questions aren't guiding enough, I guess my main question is, how "real" was my one time experience based on what you owners see on a day to day basis? This will be my first projector purchase and I want to make sure I'm buying the right unit for my situation.
I recently moved from a Sony 675 to the RS2000(NX7). DirecTV is often awful on the RS2000 compared to the Sony (720P better than 1080i). Interlacing artifacts, poor motion. Fortunately for me, I have an OPPO 203 with the HDMI input that lets me use OPPOs scaling vs. the JVC. You will likely need some other scaler than the JVC to be happy with DirecTV. Maybe the DirecTV 4K box is better than it was a year ago and would work. Hope this helps.

Question: Are User1, 2, etc...modes all calibrated as Natural to start with? Can I use one of them as my base for a 3D mode or custom 2D mode?

Thank you.

Though I put on the spears and munsil disc on demo on mute and was curious to see how the iris worked ( looking at on an angle ) and those nice dark scenes with the frogs , flower etc you can see the iris move smoothly but barley hear the sound of the iris moving.

Wide filter is on Al. Do you think that could be the filter as well ? Silly question Where is the filter on these projectors?

Ive never had a JVC with a filter so it’s all new to me.

the wide filter is dropped in and out as required. my x7000 was the same. for non HDR WCG stuff eg blu-ray and such it wont use it for HDR and WCG stuff eg uhd it will get plonked in ...probably noise hearing.

It’s sounds like a gear type of noise. Only occurs when dark screen no image going to screen with image eg from stopping the player to Panasonic’s home screen.

Apart from that it seems fine.

Yes this is normal. Especially if you are playing HDR material and returning to an SDR screen. The noise you are hearing is probably the 2020 filter moving out of place and the DI moving.

There is no point in whole house surge protection if everything of high value is going to be surge protected again........

with the n9 you have frank there are two filters I believe the 2020 filter for UHD HDR WCG and quite correctly as pointed by mike also the THX filter if utilising it for blu-ray this is quite normal the x7000 i had was the same 2020 filter for WCG and THX filter for blu-ray if used. the n5 and n7 miss the thx filter the n7 does have the 2020 wcg filter

A user mode is nothing but a combination of its attributes - Color profile, Gamma, lamp power, iris settings, MPC settings, etc. So if you have all the exact settings that Natural has in its menus, yes it is exactly the same.
