HELP JVC RS 440U Will not play standard DVD Movies

Just installed my New Rs440 3 weeks ago and last Friday for the first time I played a standard DVD and no picture . It will play Blu-ray and 4K. I called JVC and they have been no help at all. I Have played again with it for the last 2 hours changing Cables and inputs but still NO pictures . I can not believe this is not backwards compatible . I am Using a OPPO 205 player and I have even set up my old OPPO 83 and I did get a picture but the colors where only red and bluein HDMI 1. I have set the OPPO 205 to my 4k TV and it works perfect.

Thanks for any help.

Set your player to output at 1080p or 4K. The JVC projectors don't support DVD resolution, crazy I know.

Edit: It should be under custom resolution on the OPPO

Upscaling it should work. I'm able to watch my one remaining DVD on my RS4500 - " Team America : World Police - Unrated Version " ( F ya ! ).

I was set at 1080p Auto. Should I take off Auto put it on 24Hz or 50Hz or 60Hz , There are the same choices for the UH [4K]?
Thanks for your help.

I just had to set mine to custom resolution and 1080p. My frame rate is set to the factory settings and I think that was auto.

Try 'EDID 2' in the JVC Menu.

I was just going to say, don't you have the Blu-ray - but then I just looked at mine and it's the R rated version.
