My mistake. You wrote LS-500 and for some reason my brain saw LS10500.

I read this post on a German Forum about IFA. We should expect many of the same things at CEDIA: Translation from German.

FA 2019 - HOME CINEMA OF ACER; EPSON, HISENSE, JVC AND SONY
What does traditional home cinema do? I went over this tour of the trade fair. Photo: Michael B. Rehders Berlin, just before 10 am on Friday. In droves the visitors came to the International Radio Exhibition. In the best summer weather, it was packed in and out of the halls. JVC

"A press release from many came from JVC, Germany. A firmware update will be presented for the N series 4K home theater projectors. HDR is supposed to look even better. In advance, I seriously wondered if I should travel to Berlin for a FW update. Well, the city is great, offers a lot of culture and leisure time - but take the hardships for me, for a FW update? In short: I did it - and that was my best decision for a long time! What JVC has cut out of there is simply stunning. Finally, HDR works almost plug and play. There is nothing left to set. Just start a movie, a series or a live sports broadcast; the rest is done by the projector. That makes sense and gives JVC a unique selling proposition.
On top of that, a new 4K DLP projector with XPR shift technology was demonstrated. which has a whopping 3000 lumens and is perfect for living rooms.
The highlight is the dome projection. JVC has built a big cinema on the stand, with a huge dome over the seats. Two JVC DLA-NX9 fire this dome from the inside. Like in a planetarium you can see impressive pictures from our solar system. This instantly wakes you up. Photo: Michael B. Rehders - One of two JVC DLA-NX9 projects onto the huge dome. Epson"

Unfortunately Epson renounces this year, the home cinema friend a real cinema flaunt. Instead, various projectors are presented on a relatively small area, in a roundabout for about 8 people. Since I had really expected much more, especially since new projectors are talking for this year. Photo. Michael B. Rehders - A few projectors hang spectacularly above the stand and a short throw projector finds room on the sideboard. There was no bigger picture of Epson. However, it has this ultra-short throw projector in itself. The Epson EH-LS500 UST is rated at 4000 lumens, supports 4K / UHD for the price of 2999, - Euro. The Sony Home Theater: The hidden movie palace

What about the topic of home theater at Sony? There is nothing to see in Hall 20. No projector, no cinema, no living room projection, nothing like that. Far, far away and well hidden on the fairground, where the current Sony 4K projectors are shown on a big screen. Cozy two-seater sofas invite you to linger, and a sound system installed by Cinemike ensures the good sound.
Among other things, there is a FW update for the Sony 4K projector VPL-VW760. This has been available for two years and has implemented a dynamic iris from the beginning. The current FW update now enables this. Likewise, the model receives a "Digital Focus Optimizer", which should improve the sharpness impression. That's not a lot.

Cat's out of the bag for Epson, looks like.

The JVC HDR update news was posted in this forum days ago, no need for German translation: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/24-di...rojectors.html

It throws a better picture than an RS540, contrast or not. What else are you going to buy ? A VW695ES ?

I’d buy a used 640 before I played JVCs current pj “shell game”. Next year, they’ll let increase prices again due to “better contrast”...when it gets back up to what it was to begin with...what a bunch of garbage!

I wonder if this is due to the Trump import tariffs (due to Chinese content in these projectors) ?

Expect the price of the NX7 to increase in line with the RS2000.

Maybe there will be a Xmas / Holiday sale to offset it. Don't worry too much - actual street prices probably won't go up that much.

RS1000/NX5 is not increasing in price. The RS2000/NX7 MSRP is going up $1,000.

That’s $1K “MSRP”. I don’t think the actual street price increase will be anywhere near that.

I'd love to see a cheaper JVC DILA 4K, call it a NX-3. We need another DILA JVC with an MSRP of less than $4K with the X790 going away.

I'm wondering whether it's a smart move of JVC to abandon their DILA Full HD 4k E-shift line. Sony still has it (SXRD, of course).

BTW, any CEDIA news that exceed the news we already got from IFA?

I just don't think it's feasible yet (tariffs certainly not helping either). It's also a bit challenging to offer something $2K+ less than what the NX5 already does...it would be a very crippled projector at that point as it would mean fewer key features.
