Where's the usual CEDIA new products thread?

Or are all of the projector mfgr's letting their current models ride for another year?

Looks like it.

JVC and Epson will have at least one new model each. Do not know if Sony is showing anything new.

ScottSFA 08-24-2019 07:24 PM

Any rumors on a Epson UST?

Wasn't sure if they would announce an update to their LS100...

That one is getting pretty long in the tooth, but I would not expect UST 4K before a regular native 4K projector.

Is JVC replacing/updating the RS4500?

Replacing, no. Firmware updates, maybe.

I thought they may introduce the newer chips and offer e-shift 8k.

Last year, people kept saying they expected the 4500 to be replaced. I said it is not happening and many did not believe. Again this year, not happening. If JVC replaced the chips, it would be a new projector and not called RS4500.

Added
It makes no sense to me why European JVC suppliers stopped carrying the 4500 a year and a half ago.

Soooo... what are these new models supposedly? New laser by Epson?

Frankly, I wouldn't mind a new Full HD JVC with improved E-shift utilizing the CFI they gave the native 4K N-series. ;)

According to Kraine, Epson will feature 4 new home theater projectors at the preceeding IFA in Berlin, "2 from a new series, and 2 'refresh' ".

Only one from Epson moves the needle of excitement. :)

Where's the usual CEDIA new products thread?

2017 was the year Sony won, 2018 JVC won, and I hope Epson knocks it out of the park this year.

It wouldn't happen to be a UST would it?

Some of our needles are moved easier than others. When is the date this info is released?

True. The laser projector is the only one that has any excitement for me.

imagic 08-26-2019 07:44 AM

There are no projector related press releases sitting in my inbox.

And I can honestly state that I'm not sitting on any embargoed news.

IFA Berlin starts next friday Sept 6th. historically, new releases are revealed at this event several day before CEDIA which is September 10th - 14th.

If there are new products to discuss, the forum will be lit up soon.

The Epson 3000 series is due for a refresh as current models were introduced 3 years ago.

I'd take it. I love my 3700 as I watch a lot of sports in more of a hybrid man cave / entertainment room on a 150" screen. If they made a 4K version of that (highly likely e-shift) I'd be very interested.

Isn't that a tie?

DRC3 08-26-2019 02:58 PM

Epson laser with enough lumens and true 4K. If not then lamp based JVC....watching closely...

Highjinx 08-26-2019 10:23 PM

Any info if anyone is using SLD Laser in any forthcoming products?

Looks like two r/g/b light source solid state projectors from LG that will likely be RBE-free

Too bad they don't make a standard projector with specs like the hu85l

mastermaybe 08-28-2019 12:34 PM

The wait for a sub $3,000 native 4K projector for guys like me with 150+ inch screens has been just about unbearable. I love this hobby, but the days of me spending more than that on a new PJ are pretty much over. Too many great options under that price point already, I just want the "real thing" (I know, I don't really need it, lol). Here's to waiting another year...or two...or three. Sigh.

Speculation in the German HiFi-Forum has it, that the new JVC at CEDIA (and IFA?) will have a laser light source.

Partially inspired by Ekki Schmitt's dismantling of an N-series JVC: http://cine4home.de/exklusiver-tear-...er-dissektion/

"Anscheinend ist die Lightengine auch für eine duale Lichtquelle (Laser / LED) ausgelegt, was im Falle der N-Serie (noch) nicht genutzt wird."

"Apparently the light engine has been designed for a dual light source (Laser / LED) which in case of the N-series is not (yet) used."
