What are the real world differences between JVC RS400U and NX7

The subject pretty much sums it up. I have a JVC RS400U and would like to know what the real world differences are between it and a NX7. I'm asking for things visibly evident not just measurements. Is this an obvious upgrade or do you really have to look for the differences?

I came from a rs400 to a rs520 and the picture quality was much improved. Definitely preferred the 520 over the 400. The contrast set it apart. I then went to a rs2000/N7. The clarity is impressive and makes the 520 look less detailed. The best scenes on the rs520 are the average scenes on the rs2000. Basically, the best my rs520 could do is expected as the minimum on the rs2000/N7. The clarity, detail, and contrast are significant when comparing the rs400 to the rs2000/N7. Plus, the rs2000/N7 is getting an unprecedented update to include dynamic tone mapping to further set it apart.
Mike Garrett and happythanh like this.

RS520 contrast is better and it's noticeable. However, the RS2000/N7 has good contrast and the clarity is superior with a calmer image.

Though in HDR mode the dynamic iris is available on the RS2000/NX7 and it is not available on the RS520.

True, but there are workarounds as many of us used.

My findings mirror blee0120 having seen several RS4xx units, owned an RS520 and then an NX7. Contrast on the NX7 isn't quite what the RS520 had, but the other attributes pointed out certainly outweigh this.

There always are devices that can be added, but we are talking projector differences.

Sounds like it's a pretty big upgrade over the RS400U.
