NX5 vs NX7 Help Me choose

Torn between these 2. Theater room will only allow a 104" screen so trying to decide if the NX5 would be better than the 7 the on a smaller screen. I can black out the room, but do watch tv with the lights on sometime. Probably going with the DES Pulsar 1.2 screen. For this setup is the NX7 going to be visually better than the 5? I don't mind spending the extra $ on the 7 if it will perform better since deals are starting to be had on the 7s.

No, the NX7/RS2000 would definitely be the better projector. Higher contrast and you will be able to use the DCI P3 filter.

You you can afford it, it's the RS2000/N7.

I think the 2 projectors are very close.

However, on a small screen where you can use the P3 color filter and where you can close the iris down makes the NX7 more appealing. The NX7's contrast advantage really starts to show once you close down the iris since it has 2 iris's and also the color filters improves contrast a little as well while also improving the HDR color gamut coverage.

If you are running full open iris and no P3 filter I say get the NX5, since in that case the contrast is very close. If you are running the iris closed down more and the P3 filter enabled, then I say get the NX7. You should have enough additional contrast advantage to actually notice as well as slightly better HDR color.
