JVC X770r vs RS400U?

Can someone tell me the differences in PQ and features
and especially re: HDR if the X770r has the same issues re: HDR as the 400U
I know that you can d/l custom curves and they definitely help - however streaming HDR (e.g. Disney +,Netflix) it's not as good as it is via my Panny 820 with SDR conversion (unfortunately the Panny doesn't have the Disney+ only Netflix, Prime
What's the lowest models JVC that you need to step up to in order to have problem free HDR?

The onboard HDR is better on the 770 than the RS400. RS400 automatically goes to gamma D. Also the dynamic iris works in HDR mode on the 770 and is disabled on the 400, when in HDR mode.

What firmware update? Nothing changed with regards to HDR, due to any firmware updates on either projector.

you're right - I confused the gamma curves that people have created with a firmware update

My recollection was that this change was introduced in the next model, the X790/RS540.

JVC DLA-NX7; Denon AVR-X3400H; HD Fury Vertex; ATV4K; Fire TV Cube
JVC Projector Bright Curves; Optimizing HDR;
Creating a basic HDR curve using Arve’s Tool;
Replacing JVC Bare Bulbs
